1. Tell me about yourself.
Hi my name is Linda! Generally, I am an average Brooklyn Tech freshman except I my love of gummy bears and potatoes. I am in Gateway to Medicine, but my main interest lays in law. My aspiration is to be president of the USA! I spend a majority of my free time trying my hardest to aid seniors and children diagnosed with cancer/AIDs and such diseases. I am very ambitious, however, and stop at nothing in order to achieve my goals, which include the ones I have for the class of 2013. I also happen to be extremely energetic and enthusiastic. My idols are Queen Elizabeth, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and my dad.

2.Do you think you will make the freshman body happy as president?
Of course, the whole point of me running is to make sure the freshman class is satisfied and happy. I am representing the class of 2013 and I will stop at no cause to make sure that the class of 2013 is happy!

3. How do you think you will help the school?
This question should be answered by the students as well. As I said in my speech, it is up to the class of 2013 to decide how I should help the school. I want them to tell me because I represent them. However, since Emily wants me to answer it, then so be it. I have realized that a major issue of Tech is that majority of the freshman body believes the SGO to be irrelevant and pointless. However that is entirely false. My main goal is to make sure the freshman body understands SGO matters and their voice matters. That’s why I have been creating groups throughout Facebook so that the freshman class can contact me and tell me of what they want for the school. That’s why you want to fight for what you believe in!

4. What exactly do you do as freshman president?
As freshmen president, I do have a set of responsibilities. I attend meetings and discuss the school policies with other members of the executive councils. I am also part of the Student Activities committee (SAC), which is mandatory for the president and the vice president. The SAC is in charge of the events throughout the school such as the Open House, Talent Show, Trips, etc. The most significant job of the freshman president, of course, is to represent their class and bring issues of concern from students to attention.

5. What kinds of goals do you have for the school?
I have several goals for the school. One of my major goals for the school is to enable the freshman class to have trips. It is vital or us to get out of the school and relax, so beyond all others, I am going to make sure we get the trips we deserve this year. For other goals, I have been hearing suggestions from the students. One thing that is clear is that, I don’t decide by myself what the freshman class needs; the whole class of 2013 does that. If anyone wants any adjustments implemented, please e-mail me at lwang33162@bths.edu. Some suggestions I have been hearing are new mirrors in the boy’s locker room/boy’s bathroom. Other suggestions are cafeteria food, however in response to food, I am afraid I might not be able to do much about that for that is an NYC menu. That is even out of Mr. Asher’s hands.

6. What is your personal statement?
If i fail the first time, then I try again. If I fail again, then I try another time. If I fail one more time, then I look back and see what I did wrong, then I try again. I am not going to give up until I get there. The term happily ever after is not something I will get freely, but something to learn from. I will be the one that makes things happen, not watch it happen.

7. How do you respond to “no” for an answer?
When I get the response “no” I will reason until the other person understands my point and until that person has the knowledge of what they are talking about.

8. Why did you become a member of the student government?
I became a member of the student government because I wanted to be the representative of the freshman class that guided the freshman class to a successful year where they can have a satisfying pie. Okay, maybe no pie. But in general, I want us to have a voice, to have a say among the school administration, and for that, we need a candidate with a strong voice who can stand out among other executives that are older than him/her. And I had believed that I am the right choice for that.

9. What makes you a good fit?
I believe I am a good fit because I am ambitious, determined and enthusiastic. I don’t think there is a need to be a super genius that can make great speeches and essays to be president. And I will be honest right now, I am not a genius. I don’t make 100′s all the time and I don;t have a 99 average. But instead my ambitions, determination, and enthusiastic energy will make me a good fit as president. Being determined, I wouldn’t let failures or rejects stop me from my goals. Being ambitious, I will have many goals for the freshman class and will never stop, but instead, reach for an even higher goal. Being enthusiastic, I have the energy and I am positive. I am always look on the bright side, and even when the day is cloudy and it seems as though the sun wont shine, I will still look on the bright side and fight for the sun.

10. How do you serve the students?
I serve the students by always and only having the student’s best interest at heart. To me, that holds the most relevance, because it means, i will not do anything to the student body that stems from my own personal interests. In addition, I have been printing and setting up surveys for students so that the can cast a vote on what they want as a whole or what we need!

11. What is your greatest strength?
My greatest strength is the fact that I am ambitious. I never stop at 100%. Instead, I aim for 1111%. And once I get that 1111% I aim for 2222%. And I always set my eye on the prize and nothing else. I will never settle for anything less than the prize.

12. What is your greatest weakness?
My greatest weakness is my greatest strength. Being too ambitious, occasionally leads to consequences. It makes me sometimes a little bossy and controlling because I want the best. It also does not allow me to relax and take a rest. Occasionally, it drives me nuts and I work day and night to get things done the right way, Ambitions at times can be a pain.

I've been meaning to fix it for a while but I haven't had much time to code since the summer.
