Haiti Disaster Relief

Announcements, Beyond Tech — By Andy Mai on January 13, 2010 at 10:44 pm

Yesterday, January 13, 2010, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Haiti.
There are an estimated 100,000 people dead and counting.

Here are ways you can help:
-Brooklyn Tech has set up a donation box in the center section of the cafeteria during lunch periods where you can donate to help disaster relief.
-Brooklyn Tech Red Cross Club members are accepting individual donations. All donations will be added up and donated to the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross has pledged $1 Million to Haiti Relief.
-Donate to the American Red Cross at http://www.redcross.org
-Text “Haiti” to 90999 to donate. 100% of your $10 donation passes thru to @RedCross for Haiti relief. Your cell carrier keeps nothing.
-Text “YELE” to 501501 to donate $5 through Yele Haiti

Hello everyone,

As the world races to help Haiti after the aftermath of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake, so is Brooklyn Tech. Student Government has set up collection boxes for students in front of 7C1. We will be collecting during all lunch periods. Any amount will go a long way. An estimate of 3 million people may have died from this quake. We are asking students, families, and staff to be generous in their donations during this time. We must not forget the common humanity that we all share as human beings.

The Red Cross Club has asked their members to collect donations as well. If you know a friend in Red Cross and would like to donate, they would be glad to accept your donations

The K.E.Y Club, Debate Team & STAND (and many more) at Tech are also reaching out to the Brooklyn Tech community for donations.

Thank You
The Student Government Organization
