The annual Brooklyn Tech Talent Show took place recently and showed us that not only is our student body talented but diverse as well. Performances varied from martial arts, bhangra dancing to break dancing and vocal performances. Different performers showed their talents and pride of their culture through different ethnic dances and performances.

The show was a success as the majority of the auditorium was filled with students and family members. It was a friendly crowd as everyone cheered on each performer. Each performer brought something special to the stage. On performer, Nadeem Ali, recreated the Thriller dance by Michael Jackson and brought the crowd to it’s feet. The singing performances weren’t in excess as would be expected in a talent show (which is good and adds variety), and each performer was well rehearsed and prepared. The only problem that arose was the transitioning between some of performances. If the transitions were smoother then the show would have been a lot better. But besides this minor detail, the show was a great success.

And finally for this year’s talent show the third runner up was Brooklyn Tech Bhangra, who performed a cultural dance for the show. The second runner up was Diana Kim for her gymnastics which also won her third place in the talent show last year. This year’s winner was Banana Flavored Oreos a popping group that won the judges and the audience over with their extreme aerial stunts, beautifully choreographed dance moves and well executed popping moves. It was a talent show that surely will not be forgotten and it may have ended with the judges announcing the winners but each performer gave it their all and each is a winner individually.
