Yeah, so, like, when did punctuation stop being cool?

Anyways, deleting the file usually isn't good enough, it leaves behind registry entries and spare files.

Go to download.com and go download:

Ad-Aware
Spybot: Search and Destroy
Webroot Spysweeper
Tweaknow RegSweeper
And if you still use internet explorer, download either Firefox, Netscape, or Avant to replace it.

And that should prevent any spyware problems in the future.

Since educational facilities thought grammer was useless for children. Such a tragedy.

Also, if you don't have a firewall or A/V, get one like zonealarm. Don't download anything you don't know and most pictures DO NOT require .exe downloads. :?
Er...about that sig...well...the cake is a lie1!

Yeah - proper spelling needs to be emphasized, too.

After you download those programs, use them.

I had Internet Optimizer also and I got rid of it with those programs.

When you open the programs, look for the "Update" feature if there is one. Then after you've updated the programs, run them again, and it should get rid of it.

Some info here: http://www.doxdesk.c...tOptimizer.html
Theres a manual way to remove it, but you shouldn't mess around in the registry if you dont know what you're doing.

The most effective way to remove it if spybot/adware doesnt work is to download HijackThis, run it, and post the logs on a computing forum (perhaps Annoyances.org?). People who know how to read the logs can help you get rid of it quickly and effectively (it's just a matter of deleting the right entries).

Thats basically what you can do. Firewalls impead computer proformance, and removal programs don really cut it. For prevention just becareful on where you go online and use a alternate broweser (FF or Opera)
