That's odd, when I clicked the link, it brought me to Microsoft's homepage.
But, now I see it :-P

EDIT:
I fixed your link, the URL was messed up. It works now =)

Not quite.
The Beginning Of The End

(kinda old article, but the concept is still relevant.)

Even the government is against IE. It will fall soon enough.

"CERT otherwise recommends users to set security settings to high and disable JavaScript"

That's a load of bs. You cant take anyone seriously who suggests you disable javascript. Why don't we just stop using the Internet altogether, theres no being safer than that.

Once firefox becomes the predominately used browser, you will see an increase of viruses and trojans targeted specifically for it. Then when that goes to hell, people will start saying "oh look IE doesn't have as many security problems as firefox, lets switch to IE (or w/e other browser is out there then) its better!!!!1!!1!"

Buttom line: Theres no stopping abuse

I agree with the basic concept of what you just said - it's like supply and demand... except not at all, and you should ignore the analogy I just made.

Oh! It's like... it's like... forces? All forces come in pairs? Every action has an equal and opposite reaction?

Erm... sorry. What I actually intended to say in this post was that despite the above, any Firefox flaws / security breaches / whatever will probably be fixed faster - open source + development community, baby.

i agree it will never die. its like the energizer bunny(we all know how it goes). plus the government can't ban IE because it is basically taking away freedom of speech. i don't know whats so wrong w/ IE anyways? all service pages like it have glitches and vulnerabilites. there is no way to protect against it because there will always be someone out there who can best any security code you throw at them.

That doesn't matter much. Microsoft has a enormous presence in the software business. I bet that there are many of us say we hate Microsoft and yet use Windows Xp without any major problems.

nice nice, i love this n00bish articles, IE's demise, how amazing!!!
lemme list a couple of things for those SUPREME H4X0RS here
88% of people use IE
99.9999% of hackers XSS attack IE
100% of the time IE gets patched when there's a flaw
.000001% of hackers even go for FireFox, it's a matter of decency towards linux users
Firefox has a LOT more flaws than IE, if i really wanted to I could make your FireFox browsers turn into my little DOSing agents using two simple javascript commands! ah! that's sounds real stable to me!!
lemme demonstrate all of these ideas in one sentence
"omfg firefox r0x0rs, it is unh4x0rab13!!!!"
firefox uses the SAME kernels and OS backbone as IE, not much different besides the logo and the HTML interpreter, and the organized tabs
unhackable... far from.... far far far from..... goto bugtraq and look up stuff under mozilla firefox
IE gets exploited more because more people use it, if mozilla were to become dominant people such as myself would shift their focus elsewhere
