i used spybot sd to delete all the files that had spyware on it. after that it keeps giving me this msg after i open any .exe file

umm how do i get to that cuz when i restarted my computer, my startmenu was gone and all my icons were missing all thers left is my wallpaper...
edit: and my browser was still open when this happened.

Windows XP: Keep pressing F8 when booting your computer up.
Windows 9x/ME: ^ F5 instead
Enter safe mode and go system restore from there.

Mod Edit: Moved to "Tech Talk" forum.
I think that if you backed up everything on to CD from safe mode (except for your programs - they can always be reinstalled), you can reformat your hard drive and re-install everything to BE SURE that all the unwanted files are gone.

(Coughs*too much p****Coughs) Ok, Like Afaust3 said, back up your files on a CD, if you can. THe best way is probably to reformat your computer with your reinstallation disk. Other then that, you can "system restore". And if it restored some spyware...you got to find some website that helps you remove it manually (with step by step instructions) or else you're out of hope.
I miss tech. I miss all my friends. I wish I could go back.

with windows XP simply boot the cd and goto into the system recovery console type in the following
fixboot
chkdsk /r /p
winver
exit
you'll be fine

or, you can restore what you deleted.. riight click start, explore, docs and settings, application data, spybot, recovery. did you try that and restore whatever was there?
theres always a positive side to things
