XP and iTunes are both capable of burning (iTunes for music). I use Nero primarily to burn files because XP's ISO burner wizard is more prone to writing errors.

First you'll need a blank CD-R (Recordable) or CD-RW (Re-Writable). If you're planning to burn music, use Windows Media Player's/iTunes' (I'm not familiar with iTunes, but heres a tutorial on Apple's site: http://www.apple.com/itunes/burn.html ).

For WMP (make sure you have all your burning settings to your liking), all you have to do is create a playlist with what you want on the CD (a typical music CD holds about 15-20 songs) and save it. When you're done, save it and click on the "Burn" tab. Open up the playlist and it should display a list of songs. If there isn't enough room to burn everything you need, it'll notify you which songs cannot (they will not be burned). You can edit the list from there if you wish. Once you're ready, click "Start Burn" and it should tell you the estimated conversion/burn time remaining.

For data, it's quite easy. If you wish to use XP's ISO burner, the Wizard is quite self explanatory. Simply put your blank (or unfinalized) disc into the CD-RW drive and open up My Computer. Open your CD-RW drive and create folders, drag what you want on the disc there, etc. Once your done, on the right hand side under CD Writing Tasks, click on "Write these files to CD" and follow the Wizards further instructions.

Hope this helps.

you could also burnm a data cd instead of using audio. it'll put a lot moe songs on a cd (my bro put like 100 songs on a cd). you just have to have like a cd player that plays mp3s.

Yes that too... If your CD player can read finalized CD-RWs, once you're bored of one compilation, simply erase the contents of the CD-RW and burn your new tracks. In MP3 format, a CD-R can typically hold 200 MP3s (encoded @ 128 Kbps, 44KHz, 3:30-4:00 = ~3.5MB), or ~185 MP3s on a CD-RW. # of songs depend on the quality and duration of the tracks on it.

To do this, I think you just need to drag your MP3 files into your program and finalize the disk.

ok so you'll know if you can burn cds if you have more than one CD drive and one of them has "RW" on it/. okay, so then you get blank cds (the best ones are CD-R cause then you can play them anywhere and not just on cd players that do CD-RW)
then you put the CD in obviously and i think that the best system you can use is like music match and you take the music files from my shared folder and then you put them on ur burn list and burn them. make sure you have enough space on the CD for all the songs!!
