Best Laptop/Notebook

I'm going to college next year and I need to get a Laptop/Notebook (I should probably learn if there's actually a difference between them two first lol). So any recommendations? I have no budget, basically going all out on the best laptop I can get for college. So I guess i need a laptop that'll be good for college use, and at the same time good for gaming so that I will not be bored when I'm far away from home.
Please recommend some laptops/notebooks
or is custom better? (and if custom, where/how to do it?)
Thanks!

Then I would go for the Dell or Alienware.

Same here, I would go for the Dell. It's been benchmarked and is faster than any other Laptop to date. I don't know if you have that kinda money though
BTW, a 6800 ultra for CS is overkill. If you have only CS in mind, any Laptop will do

Did you even read the original post? He/She wants a Laptop, and I REALLY doubt building a laptop would be the best solution (is it even possible for godsake?)
Oh, and the Dell XPS Gen 2 is the FASTEST laptop you can possibly buy right now. Don't agree with me? Here's some evidence:

I don't know at all about Dell laptops, but as of Sager... They have pretty good tech support, from my prior experience.

Of course custom is better as they tailor the laptop to your given specs... Laptops are not exactly that flexible in terms of user-serviceable parts, as you can't upgrade them yourself as you can with a desktop computer... though recently, changes in design could allow that in the near future, in the meantime no to very limited self-upgrading.
