This would be interesting if it were real. As much as I would really like a facelift and some actual information, it isn't. Where did you get this from anyway?

The majors selection script is hosted there.

This isn't a new site. It seems like there were some abstract plans for developing a new Tech website, but this was here last year when I declared my major -- and just like last year, most of the links are dead.

It doesn't seem like they're working on that any time soon.
But today you just read that the man was shot dead

True. But it's the first step to a good website :D
Does anyone know if they are planning to finish it sometime soon?

Knowing the nature of their webmaster, I would say hell would freeze over before it happens.

I don't think there even is a dedicated webmaster for our school's site. The principal updated the announcement sections every now and then.

I think the site really needs a dedicated maintainance and design group, preferably one that has students and staff together, just like Stuy. It does look neglected and very dated. You know, one way the new site can cut some work out of the transition is by directly integrating portions of this site (BTHSNews) into that site, while both sites remain independent, but interconnected. That one will probably be different from Stuy and other H.S.'es too for that matter, I know no HS site that does this right now (linking a mostly student managed professional site with an official site). That'll also give the official site a free ride, since this site is constantly updating, those will trickle down.

Whatever. If something like that idea ever comes to fruition while I'm still in Tech, I'm game.

There is a webmaster, btw. From the administration's point of view, they wouldn't want to "integrate" or let us run parts of BTHS.edu because if we screw up and parents get ticked, they get sued not us. It would be nice if BTHS.edu was redesigned and updated. Personally, I like BTHSnews being independent. We have more power and control over our content that way.

Yes, despite the fact that people think we're totally controlled by the administration. Which we're not.

It sounds like management was smart enough not to buy into the whole "if it's not online, it doesn't exist" paradigm.

Wait for it...

For your information, the site is actually being redesigned and their plans for the site are really good. Though it may shock you to hear this, good changes are actually coming to Tech for once. You just have to wait and see. Too bad I'm a senior already and I'll be gone before the changes really take place.

Alternatively, you can continuously fail all your classes and stay until they do implement the new site.

I'm sure you wouldn't do that if you had the chance. Nobody is THAT enthusiastic about the changes.

Certainly! Why would we stick behind when we can progress and enjoy the (hopefully) beautiful layout and functionality of our college/uni's website? :)

Sure, I'll be standing by and checking the school's website from time to time (I'll let BTHSNews.org tell me first that it changed though). 'Til then, I don't want to look at the eyesore.
