Make sure you install a program that constantly monitors your system. Have a virus scanner thats active, along with an anti-spyware program that's always active.

Open internet explorer. Go to tools>manage add ons.

Paste the name list here if you want, I can tell you what to disable.

You guys left out one of the best online scanners

www.kaspersky.com

According to the reviews these Russians have the best detection rate.

After you scan online and it identified the virus just go to any anti-virus site for example Symantec to download
a free removal tool.

The best part is it isn't going to cost you a dime.

GET A FIREWALL!! Zone alarm is very very effiecient and Spyware blaster stops the spyware from entering your computer. Use AVG antivirus or Kapersky which are both very good... i think better then the pitiful norton which is good at detecting viruses =D Get Spybot and Adware to prevent spyware.. and remember PREVENTION is the best cure.. just dont go on any bad sites or download anything bad or suspicous ;D
