I hope you were joking. This is a student-run website. The only people who can lock a forum are BTHSnews administrators, such as myself.

Mamony, I remember receiving a postcard like that back in good ol' sophomore year. It's not "mandatory" per se. My parents and I didn't attend it and I'm quite content with the choice of my major - Chemistry. They might give out a booklet about the majors offered in Tech, but that can be easily found in Mr. Kettenbeil's office at 7E2.

All that will be said is that you should choose a major you think you will enjoy b/c there's no changing it once it is assigned to you. That and you'll be in it for the rest of your high school career. You should note that some majors do not offer AP classes, but some of them can be taken as an elective.

Major conferences should start very soon, which means 3 half days for the rest of us :D . These conferences should be informative and helpful for you. If you have any questions about that particular major, they always open it up to some Q & A.

Yeah well it's said to be mandatory and I think that it's more than just a good idea to go. The more info that you can get the better.

Don't worry I was joking, but I'm just addressing the censorship idea that our school always has. :D

Ok good, because I like to keep my parents as isolated from my school matters as possible. I want to just lead my future the way I want to and I don't want my parents to hover around me and making all my choices.

I know some people who switched majors when they entered their senior year.

To my knowledge, it is no easy thing to switch your major. I have seen how many times people go complaining (even with their parents) to Mr. Kettenbeil and he doesn't grant you the switch.

Yeah it's extremely hard which is why you should go to every event thingy that they have that's related to major selection so that your positive that you're making the right choice.
