These so-called "interesting coincidences" are well-documented as frauds. They occur no more commonly than anything else. I'm not going to quote it, but try here and here

OK, granted, the first coincidence isn't actually debunked. Nonetheless, it's just that- a coincidence. I wish people would stop entertaining every crackpot notion that's thrown in front of them.

Fact: NOTHING from spam or chain e-mails should be regarded as factual or anything to worry about. Every single one is a hoax.

Remember, if you don't send this message out to 20 people by 1AM, you won't ever get a**. You'll become ugly and stay ugly and lonely forever. So start sending this chain. NOW.

So these things happen...Big whoop.

They forgot that both Kennedy and Lincoln both have seven letters in their last names!

Who knows? Maybe its a big conspiracy, and that the ISS(the one before CIA, forgot if these are the proper ones)/CIA just wanted to make some fun, so they decide to have a president fit a death mold just like Lincoln!

JFK was with Marilyn Monroe before he was assassinated.
Lincoln was in Monroe, Maryland before he was assassinated.

Remember, Bush could've died choking on a pretzel Thanksgiving 2001.

I agree with you guys for the most part... the top half is interesting, but I think it's just a coincidence. The part comparing Lincoln and Kenedy, the examples they used are true, but a little far stretched. One of my American teacher's was fond of the expression "history repeats itself", and she did use Kennedy vs. Lincoln as an example once.

How about a real "coincidence":

The first day of the D.C. Sniper shootings was the day the Patriot Act was intro'd.
The last day of the shootings was the day before the passing of the Patriot Act.

Perhaps a diversion?

Note: If this goes political it will be moved to the Politik forum with a shadow topic in H&E

Hahahahahhaah the enmity remains but that was just so damn funny

Hmm. I don't believe too much in coincedences in general, but I don't see any reason for Lincoln and Kennedy to be connected on so many levels for any divine reason. Maybe it was some form of fate, but as I said, since I see no reason for it to be as such, I remain indifferent.

Here's a thought I had about all the Nostradamus hype after 911. Remember how everyone said "Well in the year -4562.2 (not an actual number), Nos said that two twins would be brought down by a flaming bird"... Something along those lines. And people were terrified and waiting for the world to end. But did anyone stop to think that Nostradamus didn't predict the future, rather he wrote it? Because you have these terrorists looking to kill a lot of people and scare the !@#$ out of a lot more. What better way to attack people at the heart than take away their security in both the present and future, by fulfilling the predictions of the past. Nostradamus said a loooot of things, most of them never happened. You gotta figure that if I ramble long enough, in some thousands of years some of those things will come true no matter how outrageous they seem. He could have very well pulled that out of his a**, knowing that some day someone would fulfil the 'prophecy'.

hey, actually nostradomus didn't predict 9/11, the year that he supposedly predicted it, was actually a few years after his death.
as for his predictions well anyone can make a vague prophecy and stetch it to fit events that happen later, but i believe that he did make quite a few accurate predictions. he published Quatrains, which is a poem with four lines. He completed a total of 942 quatrains which he organized into Centuries - groups of 100 quatrains (one Century only had 42 quatrains).
he liked to use different languages and made changes to names of people or places by replacing or dropping letters. some say to avoid charges of witchcraft by being right all the time, others to be interpreted to fit any situation.
one quatrain which people believe refers to Hitler. French and English versions Century 2, Quatrain 24

Bestes farouches de faim fleuues tranner;
Plus part du champ encontre Hister sera,
En cage de fer le grand fera treisner,
Quand rien enfant de Germain obseruera.

Beasts ferocious from hunger will swim across rivers:
The greater part of the region will be against the Hister,
The great one will cause it to be dragged in an iron cage,
When the German child will observe nothing.

The Mask of Nostradamus: The Prophecies of the World's Most Famous Seer, by James Randi

Click here for thre really long link I posted!

I read it for my global class term project last term. Very interesting, and exposes Nostradamus for what he and all supposed psychics and prophets are - a crock.
