Sorry to those who signed up for this event, but the upcoming soup kitchen at the Catholic Worker Soup Kitchen (lower manhattan), for Saturday 10/28, has been cancelled. We could not find Department of Ed chaperones in time.

Please tell your friends if they had planned to go. Thank you.

I don't think there has been any event that took place on a Sunday as far as I remember. Kinda tough on me, since I don't have Saturdays free, but I managed.

Yes there are. Senior Citizens' Prom is on a Sunday, and some other events are as well.

PS do me a favor, don't use my real name on the forums.

Sorry, i won't.

But what exactly do the chairpeople do? And are there extra meetings for them? If so, on what day?

There will be meetings if we decide that it's necessary. There's a meeting when we first choose the chairpersons, and we basically give them an overview of what to expect. After that we'll really only pull you aside for a meeting if you aren't fulfilling your responsibilies.

Chairpersons organize whatever event they get. The soup kitchen people will be responsible for regularly calling up the various soup kitchens, mass emailing all our members, allocating spots to our members, corresponding, etc. The Operation Santa Claus people have to go buy the gifts and oversee the event, which occurs in December. Etc, etc. PM me for other questions.
