It's on my list of things to do. The Spider-Man series is one of the few series' that I've always seen on Opening Day, so I'll have to do that again with this one. It looks good, though I think they've gone and meshed a few too many storylines together for this movie.

Spider man, Spider Man, radioactive Spider-Man! Spins a web any size, catches thieves just like flies. Look out! here comes the Spider-Man!

Oh, how I love that cheesy tune, and oh, how I love the Spider-Man series lol. I can't wait to see how they portray Venom and his alter-ego, Mr. Eddie Brock (?), aka Topher Grace. And how are they going to break up Mary jane and Peter? Granted, I've always hated Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane, but I like them together nonetheless lol. Too much drama.

The new trailer is even better.

If anyone can pull off a movie with multiple villians, it's Sam Raimi. Granted, they could have left out venom, but introducing the symbiote and leaving out venom entirely would have been bad too. plus, sandman is not that great of a villian, and i wouldn't want to see an entire movie with Goblin 2.

I wanted to see that movie ever since i first heard a rumor about it.
I know venom is going to be in it, but is the other version of spiderman going to be there too. I think there's a black version of him but it's not venom, it's like an alternate version. Anyways if anyone knows who it is let me know

spiderman is spiderman with the black suit... theres no alternative version... its just that the symbiote attached to him... still the same guy... and then he gets it off of himself and it goes on the other guy and he becomes venom....

thats basic comic book storyline

The symbiote attaches to his suit, making Spiderman stronger and stuff but clouding his judgment, which makes him do like bad things (eg. one of the trailers hints that he killed Harry, which is probably not true lol) And then he finally realizes he has to take it off when the symbiote starts tricking him (explaining the picture of him and his reflection in the building) and other things start to happen. And then the symbiote attaches to Topher Grace, who plays Eddie Brock, Peter Parker's rival reporter or something like that, and Eddie Brock becomes Venom, super-strong, and Spiderman's enemy.

Question: how did the symbote get to Spiderman again? I know it came from space, but I forgot how it exactly led to Spiderman.

SPOILER WARNING!!

When the alien symbiote attaches itself to peter, it makes him stronger and much more aggressive. Once he realizes what he is doing, he tries to get the suit off. If the storyline is similar to that of the 90s cartoon, the reason peter goes to the church bell tower is because loud noises weaken the suit. He tears the suit off, and it attaches itself to Eddie. Eddie and the symbiote both hate Parker, and that hatred together creates Venom.

P.S. I don’t think Peter kills Harry with the pumpkin bomb, but I do think he scars his face.

EDIT: There are really two origins to the suit. The comic origin was that when Spidey fighting in the Secret wars, his suit got torn up and he needed a new one. Some machine made the black suit for him and he wore it, not knowing it was an alien symbiote. The 90s cartoon had the suit come to space on a spaceship. Jameson’s son, who was introduced in the second film as MJ’s fiancé, comes back from a space mission. I believe they unknowingly bring this organism with them from space, and it attacks the crew and causes the ship to crash. Spidey comes to the rescue, and the symbiote secretly attaches to his suit. By the time he gets home, it takes over him. From what I’ve seen in the trailer, and what we were introduced to in the second film, I think the second scenario is what is going to happen in the film.

Its not going to be released just for IMAX, Spiderman 3 will be in regular movie theaters as well. IMAX movies are horribly overrated, mainly because everyone expects the whole movie to be 3-D, which its not. But at the same time, its nice to watch a movie on a obnoxiously large screen.

Goddammit, I've got a final on May 4th, and I've seen every Spiderman on openning day... I guess I'll see it after my test.

Hey, I love IMAX. IMAX is not supposed to be in 3D, only IMAX 3D is. However, the sound quality and visual clarity is great in an IMAX theater and personally I think it is worth the extra few bucks especially if it is a movie that you really want to see.

Spider-man 3 was not a good movie. its a dumbed down summer popcorn flick, and doesnt have the same elements the last two films had. the worst part, the scenes that were amazing showed that this movie had all the potential in the world to be great, it just didn't live up.
