I agree with tigthjeans. The movie had so much potential. It was terrible. I couldnt believe what I was seeing at times. It was a disaster.

Meh, all action scenes. Just like every other movie.
But it's to be expected. This IS what happens after you try to make movies out of a COMIC STRIP. You know how many plots there are in a comic series?!?!
If they continue to make Spidy-boy movies, it's gonna be like Scary Movie, which was great for the first two, but then flopped 3rd onwards, including Date Movie and especially *shudder* Epic Movie.
Only instead of overtly crude humor about fat chicks, it's going to be a plotless action/flick/flick/flick thing with a special effects budget the size of the White House.
*Sighs*. If all else fails, revert to humor/action eh? Typical.

It takes 42 muscles to frown, but just 5 to pull the trigger of any decent sniper rifle :)

I did not see it as that bad. I thought it was a good movie even though shoving in more than one villian was not such a great idea. It had great action and even though there were cliffhangers, that is why a 4th one is being made.

i have to admit i couldn't really understand what sakura said.
*Spoiler and rant alert*
ok. this has been bugging me all weekend. esong knows me, and im a freak when it comes to spiderman. the problems began when the producers became involved with the creative process. they badgered raimi to inculde venom because that what "the fans want." raimi gave in and that was the start of this whole huge mess. at first, raimi wanted to have sandman and he wanted to finish the story about peter and harry. this would have been fine. when raimi gave in, he should have scraped the sandman storyline for the symbiote/venom storyline. that way you could have had a good film with either villian (although i would enjoy the one with venom more) with a well developed plot, proper character developement, and good pacing.
instead, we have a movie with labout four seperate storylines. the pacing is terrible, dragging on the boring parts and speeding over parts where we could have had some real character developement. again, if they got rid of sandman, they would have saved at least 40 or 50 minutes from the film. those 50 minutes, plus another 20 if they needed to, could have added all the elements this film was missing.
- they could have shown peter as much more violent. i loved the scene where he was strutting down the street. it was funny and it proved its point. the jazz scene however, was pointless.
- they could have developed eddie's anger and resentment.
- in regards to harry...well, they needed to figure out somehting less convenient than bernard's speech at the end.
then there are other thing that irked me about this film. all the little kids in this film are annoying. the ending was such a cop out. there is a scene where spidey jumps in front of an enormous american flag. harry raises his eyebrow when he is supposed to be eveil. harry also has a lazy eye in one scene that really kinda takes you out of the scene. with all the money they had, they could have done some reshoots. normally, if the plot was solid, this wouldnt bother. but with a bad plot, these things just kinda pop at you while your watching because you sort of become disengaged from the story.
however
the film does have its good parts. the beginning of the film is really great. there are some very well written scenes. some might have not liked the peter/mj drama, but i did. its necessary for the movie because its part of peter.there are some parts of the film that make this film more mature than the last two. after seeing the good scenes, it kind amakes you said because it shows that this film had some amazing potential. and the action is great. it has some of the best special effects ive scene in a film. overall, when you compare it to the last two movies, it doesnt hold a candle to them. if you look at it as a typical hollywood summer blockbuster, its worth going and just watching it.

The strut scene was god-awful, Spiderman swinging in front of the American flag was totally unnecessary, and the plot was pretty crappy. The fighting scenes are the only thing that come close to redeeming Spiderman 3.

All action scenes? If anything, it needed more action scenes. All that emotional crap that Spiderman goes through was really lame.
