As said from our meeting, the Tree Decorating Event is this Saturday, November 18th from 10-2. You must stay for the 4 hours. If you come late, then you will have to stay extra afterwards.

If you did not sign up, you are more than welcome to come. the more Beta members, the Better!

If you DID sign up and you cannot come, PLEASE let us know now, otherwise you are expected to come. You MUST let us know at latest the day before the event. Telling us the morning of would be rather inconsiderate and hectic... if this becomes a habit, points will be taken off.

Look for Catherine, Daniel, or Melissa to sign in!. We will be wearing our lovely yellow hand made Beta shirts. It's important that you find us, otherwise you WILL NOT get credit for this event. The soup kitchen verification form is not needed. We shouldn't be too hard to find, about 30 members are expected to come.

And bring cameras! Then send the pictures all to Beta so we can put it on our future website and bulletin board!!!

Where do we go there after we leave Lawrence Street Station.

An alternative might be what djharkavy recommended in an earlier post.

"Try hopstop.com or trips123.com

The former tends to overestimate the time needed for a trip. The latter works VERY well when it works, but it comes up with some bizarre routings sometimes."

I don't even know how I remembered that he posted this, but I did. Hope this helps.

So, I trust it was a blast? I wanted to come, but I had to make more prints for my portfolio.

Oh yeah, it was. 35 techies attended! we decorated a total of 18 trees 9out of 21 that required no actual artistic skill) and they even complimented us. ;D we have pics and we all left 'sparkling' with "christmas spirit" haha..in other words, all the glitter rubbed off onto us. the Heartshare people were really nice.

Awesome. I unfortunately was not able to attend, even though I "coordinated" the event... I'll have to go to KeySpan and check this out.

Good job, BETA!

Well I have the attendance sheet, it was 32 members, 3 officers and 2 chaperones.

Did you guys really? I guess i missed that, i was mostly running around or on the very annoying "tassle hunt." I thought we mostly got assigned to cutting tags and decorating the center trees.

We said that there was 40 trees, but i spoke to the supervisor--there were actually less trees this year, not including the themed trees on the outside that were being auctioned off.

Don't worry esong...you still got credit for finding the event for us. One of the supervisors told me that his sister went to Tech and that she know's Ms. Ross very well. Of course he then joked and said that if we didn't behave he'd know where to go.. just another example of how there are tech connections all over the place..

And for some good news:
Mr. Kahn said that Ms. Ross was contacted by that guy who I spoke to, George, and said that he couldn't stop complimenting us and saying how impressed he was by the Beta members; GOOD JOB YOU GUYS!!! =D
