I have the sony ericsson W810i, works great as a phone AND a MP3, sound quality is awesome.
I live in like the worst part of the neighborhood and I was walking home at like 12 30 AM after traveling home from the concert and I was robbed, probably because the earbuds were black unlike ipod's white visible ones.

Personally, I like the players made by creative and I still like the nano.

Sony CD players are still expensive around $80 last time i check. maybe its because no one is buying them.
But I would recommend you just to get a mp3/phone so you don't need to carry that many electronic devices around.

The less you carry, the less you can lose. (or get robbed for)

You can go to your original retailer and see if he/she can give you a discount on a 'new' phone you would want to get.
And the only thing I can think of thats for having a cell + MP3 in one is that they have a limited amount of memory (storage).
I have a 4GB memory card in my phone (sony ericsson W810i) and it hold alot of songs + pictures, and other files. It basically enables you to store anything you want on it, just like a flash drive.

whatever you do, don't get creative... not a superb company there...
I got the original zen micro, and though I liked it a problem occurred... they poorly constructed the MP3 player so that after a while the headphone jack disconnects from the circuit board so eventually you dont hear anything... this happened to mine, happened to mine friends and to almost all others... i'm going to solder the jack back on... but really... its not worth your trouble... this experience made me realize, that no matter what everyone says... "oh no way, the blah blah player is so much better than the iPod", there is a reason its not doing better... the iPod is a quality device and is widely used for a reason.... it doesn't have widespread defects, it has a nice interface and great functioning... another thing with the zen micro is that my dad complains about with his zen photo that as soon as you highlight an album or something it with select it quickly without having you click... and also another reason not to get creative... my zen micro, they tried to copy the iPod's locking functioning with a switch but ha, the lock switch slides off in your pocket and it turns on...
iPod imitations all say they are better, but in reality they aren't and there is always a reason they are not on top... because if they really were better, slowly and surely, they would indeed rise to the top
