Yes...

I find it hard to believe that we could talk so much about floppys. Personally, I think it is a good riddance.

The capacity of a floppy drive varies on how you format it. It you format it to DOS/Windows FAT, then you get about 1.38 megs. If you format it to one of them Macintosh format, then it's a little bit less.

Floppy Disk Drives have been leaving slowly due to their tiny, tiny, tiny memory compacity and how easily they become currupted. Plus, they are susceptible to Disk Bombing, which is what the New York City Department Of Education did not think about when they bought several thousand computers with Floppy Disk Drives.

They are very vulnerable and easy to damage, but their a cheap alternative. I know I'd use them ;)
You can't expect to do everything, but there is everything to be expected.
