The article show the urgency for all Americans, especially weight-laden student-Americans, to monitor their diets.

Just so that the people reading this know, the article is from the Onion, a humor/spoof web site.

I really hope that yoicks knew that. I read that article, and its a hillarious read, but it is in no way factual. Though it wouldn't be the first time that an Onion article was mistaken for an article from a reputable newssource. A few years ago, Christian conservatives once cited an Onion article about Harry Potter as proof that the books were teaching witchcraft and satanic rituals.
It's much easier being politically incorrect.

lol i had a feeling it was the onion and was surprised the topic creator did not mention anything about that.

my favorite part of it was "But the fact that obesity impedes suicide is truly troubling".

That was really funny. For me this was the funniest part of the whole article:

Quote

The report included detailed illustrations of extremely overweight people unable to bend over far enough to fit their heads into ovens, bobbing like corks while attempting to drown themselves, and becoming too winded scaling stairs to reach heights from which they could hurl their enormous bulk with fatal results.

The moment that a plurality of the people in this world succumb to ignorance, the end is near. - by me
