I still did not quite understand the poll. I'm looking forward to the Deathly Hallows. I don't care so much for the movie.

I want to see the movie, just so I can complain about how they adapted it poorly from the book. But I actually heard that this one will be pretty decent, better than the last movie anyway.

As for Deathly Hallows, I really cannot wait, its one thing that is keeping me going through this summer. I don't have any predictions or guesses, though I must admit anime mania, that I thought it was weird of you to first say you're offer a prediction, and then turn it into a rumor by saying "I heard that..." While I've read a few spoilers, nothing has really convinced me one way or the other, so I'm just going to wait it out.

Yeah the movies are usually disappointments but I always like to see the books come to life. The ending of the movie is going to be imax 3D too so I'm looking forward to that. I can't wait for the 7th book either.

I can't wait for the book! I ordered the deluxe edition of the book the first week it became available (normally I never do that but come on, its the last book!). I ordered from Barnes and Noble, and I was wondering will it arrive the day it comes out?

I'm about to reread HP5 and HP6 to refresh my memory. I will watch the movie, but I'm alot more excited about the book. HP5 is by far my favorite one out of the serie, so I hope the movie wouldn't so bad either.

I hope it arrives the day it comes out!

Yes, that's part of the fun in pre-ordering the book! You're guaranteed a copy the day it comes out. =] I know that amazon.com guarantees your copy will arrive on July 21st or they will refund your money. I'm not sure if B&N has a policy like that.

I was checking out the shipping policies of both and yea for amazon, its guaranteed same day delivery. for b&n its not. for barnes and noble it may take up to 3 days! Yikes! I was going to cancel my order from b&n and order from amazon but then i saw that amazon was out of the deluxe edition copies.

Oh no, the Deluxe edition is REALLY NOT WORTH IT. I had to buy the deluxe edition for Ootp when it came out because I went to Barnes and Nobles 11 hours late and they all sold out, and I had to spring $20 extra. It just comes with a fancy cardboard and colour covered box with a book that's covered with GrandPre's artwork, without the title or anything. $20 extra for that!

Do you know how many cup noodles one could have BOUGHT with those extra $20?!??!?!

Anyways, I'm interested to know how Rowling'll tie off all the loose ends of the entire Harry Potter series. There are too many unanswered questions for her to wrap up in just 748 pages (or so she said), and since she's not going to write any more HP books after the seventh one (godforbid), there's gonna be a heck of a lot of unanswered questions.

I'm not enthusiatic about the movie though. 3D or no, it's those movies that ruined my HP reading experience, and I'm not too inclined to forgive movie no.3 right now for botching up so badly.

Plus, it's because they didn't want to deflect attention from the stupid Ootp movie that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows did not come out at July 7th, 2007. If it was not for the fact that the movie was scheduled to come out in July instead of the usual October or November, we'd have the books in our hands by now!

Anyways, as for the pre-ordering, I'm so envious of those that have that option. My only option to getting my mitts onto a book is if I camp outside a Barnes and Nobles and try to rush in the first minute they open. Oooooh....I cannot wait...*drools*
It takes 42 muscles to frown, but just 5 to pull the trigger of any decent sniper rifle :)

instead of camping outside b&n, what you could do is go to your local library. at the time order of the phoenix came out, my parents wouldn't give me money to buy the book so the saturday it came out, i went to the library. there was 10 books just sitting on a shelf. i was surprised that there were so many left since i came to the library 3hrs after it opened.
i might do the same thing with deathly hallows because i'm afraid that b&n will fail me and not deliver on time.

Yeah, when I worked in the Sunnyside branch (Queens Library) two years ago, the day after the release of the 6th book, the library was pretty well stocked with them. I think there were more than 10 copies and the last book wasn't checked out until almost closing time. I expect Queens Library to maintain similar levels this time around too.

Only caveat was that it was a non-renewable 21 day loan (which is pretty rare actually. New Books normally have the 7-day tag or normal borrowing schedule).

----

I'm going to complete my collections... with softcover. I have all 6 books in softcover, I daresay I'm patient enough to wait until I buy book 7. Hopefully the library (or e-book) will give me a quick fix in the meantime

even 7-days is enough to read the book. crazy harry potter freaks (such as myself) will probably finish it the first day.

Sadly none of the Harry Potter books are legally available as ebooks.

I wish they were. I rarely carry paper books with me any more, but I will need to with this one.

How in the world do you finish a book in one day lol. My current record for speed reading a Harry Potter book was 3 days for order of the pheonix. I read it multiple times to understand it better =D. Couldnt you download the Harry Potter books from one of the torrent sites

Last book, my wife finished it the evening of the first day, and I finished it in the early morning of the second day, after getting it from her.

Cannot legally download it from the torrent sites.

i read the book in one day and it was great, i mean i didnt just skip alot of parts and read dialogues only, i actually just sat down and read it, and this is the best book yet , with its only competition bieng the Order of the Pheonix becuase its not like most books that are unclear about whats happening and leave you a very "steep" cliffhanger.

anyone else?

Our postman, who is usually here by 11 AM, didn't make it until 2 PM with the book. My wife grabbed hold of it, so I have just gotten started with it.

Good stuff so far, and they haven't revealed any real fun secrets yet.

My book arrived at 8:40AM. I was expecting it much later on. I had just woken up 10 minutes ago when the doorbell rang.
I immediately began reading without eating breakfast or anything. I finished about 12 hrs later (before 9PM). I would have finished sooner but didn't because I took a break to eat.

There is something that was on my book's case that surprised me. In red ink, one one side of the case was J. K. Rowling's autograph. The first time I saw it, I got mad because I thought someone wrote on my book while packaging. When I looked closer, I was able to identify the J and the K. I didn't investigate further b/c I wanted to start reading. This morning I looked up J. K. Rowling's signature and it matches the one on my case.

At first I thought maybe all the deluxe editions were autographed but then realized that would be ridiculous. There was simply too many to do that. The autograph seems pretty real but I also fear that someone involved in packaging may have forged it as a joke or something.

How can I verify that the autograph is real (without having to spend any money doing so)?

Is your book by Bloomsbury publishing? if it's not I doubt the signature is real. If it is then it might be possible- I have no idea.
