i heard that if you fail a regents but pass the class and you don`t take the regents in august (aka.. this coming thursday) - you have to take the whole course again?!
is this true?

i failed chem regents (grr.. by 2 points!), was going to take it again around january but heard this yesterday..
i didn`t think i was going to take it in august so i didn`t have time to prepare! :(

does it work the other way around; you fail a class , but get a 85+ on the regents, because thats what some teachers say, but my friend got a 86 on bio regents , but ended up failing the course

^hm..i`m pretty sure it ends friday..

well i`m pretty sure that if you fail the class and pass the regents - the teacher can either decide to pass or fail you depending on the regents grade.

I think if you get a 85+ on the Regents you get the credit for the class. Thaat's what happened to me. I failed US history but got a 96 on the regents so the summer school guidance counselor said I still get the credit. But I think you have to get at least a 55 in the class or something like that.

As for the end of summer school, the last day you have to come is Wednesday, unless you have to take a regents. Friday is the last day for regents.

But you know, I dont see how passing the regents but failing the class would give you credit. This just proves that Tech is all about Tests and doesnt include large majority and grade determining factors such as HWs, Projects, Class particiaption....etc...

Nick, these are NYS Education Department guidelines. Not Brooklyn Tech guidelines.

Oh I see, my mistake. Well I guess the Education Dept wants people to pass and graduate ;)
