Please write in sentences, and try to keep away from constant shorthand. You can use "lol" in some of your posts.

To be perfectly honest with you, there are much better sites than ours for questions like this.

Engadget just did a comparison of Mac's new OS versus Windows newest OS. Check it out: http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/27/leopard...chart-showdown/

zoso, i think you need to sleep at reasonable hours..:P
now back to mac or pc, he's right, a google search will give you TONS of info. I have a pc and its what im accustomed to but a Mac has many advantages- best one- it can't get a virus.
I <3 NY. the only place where you'll find an M&M store across the street from a Hershey store, and walk pass a cow boy in March wearing nothing but his hat and a brief, playing a guitar..

It can get a virus, but no one gives a rats a** about them and they don't create viruses.

Back to the topic, Windows for sure.

Well if no one cares enough to create virii, then I don't think you can get a virus, can you?
But yeah, Macs are much more secure though you can go on just fine with a PC so long as you know what you're doing.

BUT Macs are still prettier and OS X is awesome and a half...plus you can always dual boot with boot camp if you must use windows.

You could also pay $1000 less, and boot Mac OS X on regular hardware along with Windows.

The whole "prettier" thing is a bit silly. I built my own computer and I think it's fairly pretty, dare I say, gorgeous. If you're referring to the iMac-all-in-one-piece look, then you might want to wait for the Dell XPS One.

Fair enough call on dual booting on regular hardware. Then the issue comes back to (as it should) the actual operating systems, in which case the article you posted earlier actually does a much better job help than this forum could.

I will admit though, that Dell is actually pretty damn beautiful.

I hate it when companies copy each other, and the only thing they change is size (by a tiny amount) and color.. >.>

HFS+ with Journaling. Leaps and bounds over NTFS. Ironically, both Apple and Microsoft both bailed on next-gen file systems, but Apple did work read-only ZFS into Leopard, which is more than I can say for the vapourware WinFS.

Please. No more right click and gaming arguments. You can right click in Mac. If you don't have a right click mouse, hold the ctrl key and click. As for games, not everyone plays FPS (which is really the only thing PC gamers play).

I dislike Dell because they rip you off and the computer doesn't last very long, mine was dead with missing system32 files for months before I did a reboot with the re installation cd which took like a whole hour I had to sit in front of the computer n keep the mouse moving so it wouldn't fall asleep in the process. Now, I need to reinstall windows altogether when I have time- the comp is working but its unsafe to place the internet back on it- its detecting emails being sent from it when it has no connection.... Dell's don't last much more than 5 yrs, if that much, especially the laptops. on the other hand, my cousin has had the same Mac since from before I (well my family) got my first computer back in 1996 or so... And I'm on my 4th one. (I think 3 were hewlett packard, plus the dell, and in addition there was a dell laptop, now completely dead, i now have an acer laptop that functions reasonably). So in the long run, I've spent way more on the computers than my cousin did on his Mac- making Mac in a way more cost-efficient (but my situation may not and probably does not relate to everyone's elses. I recently saw an MSN article on the best computer deals (laptop comps) based on prices, speed and how they work. If I can find it I'll post the link. I see pro n cons to both sides. Mac is more for those comfortable with more advanced stuff, PCs are the typical choice for people who aren't fully computer-literate. I can tell you right now that I'd have a hard time putting Word on a Mac as well as doing formatting with their document program.

well now that you put it that way.. I would know how to. but if i weren't told how it was done- I'd have no clue what to do.. but anyway... that's irrelevant- but you do see what I mean by many being afraid they won't know how to work a MAc and so they go for PCs which are more popular. though I have to say- Mac has been gaining a lot of credibility, and popularity in the past few yrs.

Yes, it leaps then bounds and then crashes. ALL THE TIME.

Maybe you haven't seen Vista corrupt your 32bit application layer libraries.
