To put it simply, Z2Z is a semi-retired admin (and one of the most influencial, if I may say so, in his heyday around here). All it takes is one edit to "vandalize" the poll. Catch my drift?

Second OSX86, was the most fun thing I ever did for a computer. I tricked half of my friends into thinking that I installed a Mac into my wall that transmitted wireless signals to my monitor through the wall. Then I tricked them into thinking that that beige PC case had all the components of a MacBook installed into it. It's really fun boggling peoples minds when they don't know computers. My friend once said, MACS SUCK. And I go why? He goes BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE THEM. It's really comments like that, that destroy debates about this topic.
I like OSX. I like the hardware (albeit weak) in Macbook's. I do not like the IMac.
I like Windows. I like XP SP2. I don't like SP3. I kinda like Vista just for the Aero. Thats it.

Well, it's true. I would love to try a Mac, but considering how much cheaper PCs are in the first place, making the switch would be pretty stupid if I never learn how to play with my new, pretty, expensive Mac that I bought with hard earned money =X
And I hate Vista for the Aeros. Because Microsoft had to be an a** and stop producing computers compatible with Windows XP, I had to get a Vista, and nearly went bald trying hard not to kick the darned computer for taking an hour to OPEN A WEB BROWSER. It's pretty easy to delag a vista, but that's only after knowing what's lagging Vista in the first place.
Taadaa, Aeros! *stabstabstab. Not to mention the other little pretty effects that are totally useless, and having to search for an hour on the internet before I could find out how to make my icons seeable without opening them, and not pre-made generic icons for everything.

Why can't one of the most hyped features of Vista be used on a reasonably equipped machine that is 'certified for vista?'
Why does this topic come back every few months?

Vista is built on a framework of duct taped code.
Ubuntu can do the same effects as Vista but on much lower spec computers no problem.
Also there are still Windows XP compatible computers, pretty much all Vista computers should be able to run XP no problem, you just need a new install disk for XP.
Also Macs are overglorified name brand PCs. Same components, same stuff, the operating system is based on unix(same as linux).

I'm gonna revise your statement with my take (of the facts and opinions). Please take it part seriously (oy, there's a fallacy in that!) and part in good humor
Just because they both come from the original Unix doesn't make OS X the same as Linux. Linux is still not the easiest to use despite geeks working on it for nearly two decades. Many of those geeks, nerds, jerks and borks are proud of that fact. The rest can go to hell, who cares what they think? They're not gonna help my argument here! That price premium you pay for a Mac goes to, among other things, that stylized white apple logo and helps to comp others who may have purchased a defective unit. And some people DO care about how their machines look, even if they all look like glossy pieces of plastic (or the same ol' brushed aluminum that can be duplicated in Photoshop). The iMac G3 color experiment was way too ahead of its time!
Cheers!
