I feel as if the freshmores should of won! We blew the competition out by far, especially the juniors!!! The only possible reason for the sr's victory is that they sold more tickets than the freshmores! thats the only possible way they beat us!

People always feel that their grade should win. I didn't have a chance to see SING this year, I didn't get back to New York early enough, so I can't judge which group should've won. But its not surprising you feel that way. Everyone always feel a bit of pride for their lot.

Anyway, who did win SING, I haven't seen any obnoxious posts about it like you usually see.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found the answer.
It's much easier being politically incorrect.

Seniors won, they actually had a plot. The freshmores had sporadic bouts of song and dance intertwined with a barely-there story and the juniors well they didn't parody Broadway (and had a tactless finale).

I'd have to disagree. The Freshmores had a plot just as much as the Seniors did. Their play was based on High School Musical. But the first scene might have confused people a bit. I don't think people realized everything but the first and last scene was a flashback of how the first scene came to be.

As for the Juniors, I think they had the best story. You're right about the lack of parodies, though. I think whoever wrote the script misunderstood and simply turned Tech into a musical as opposed to creating parodies of actual musicals. The imitations of Mr. Asher, Ms. Felix, Mr. Orna, Mr. Brutus and Ms. Arcuri were almost flawless, especially Mr. Orna. I believe the only reason why they lost was because Stageworks screwed up on Thursday and cut their show short. Mr. Williams was in the pit at that time and he had a "WTF" look on his face. On Saturday, the Juniors made sure that all lines were heard by using the microphones efficiently. Compared to the other classes, it was easy to see what the story was. Had the theme this year been "Tech: The Musical", they would've won first place.

Oh no doubt about it, the impersonations were great. And yes, they would have won if it was "Tech: The Musical", but luckily it wasn't B)
And yeah, honest to goodness, I have no idea what High School Musical is so maybe that's why the freshmores made absolutely no sense to me.

Senior SING is on youtube. Just search "BTHS SING". The Frehsmores put a video of clips. The Juniors put up the majority of their Mr. Asher impression.

The Juniors were imitating "Rent" with there musical "Tech". They also parodied "Seasons of Love" with their "How do you measure 4500 students?"

i don't think the juniors lost because of stageworks on thursday. i actually heard from a some people that they were in first place after thursday's show. the freshmores and the seniors stepped it up on saturday though and thats how the order ended up changing in favor of the seniors. the juniors performance was pretty long and they're vocals weren't too amazing. that one girl was an amazing dancer though, i dont know her name. oh yea, the "techbill" says that the juniors' performance was inspired by fame.

You mean the one who exaggerated her movements? Her name's Rene(I think that's the correct spelling).

What really made me laugh was the fact they guy singing the Freshmore Tech Alma Mater messed it up both days and it was so obvious. He forgot the words on Thursday and on Saturday he stuttered at the end.

This was my fifth year doing SING(yes, 5 years). This year was better than last years. But the key element missing from both years was Dr. McCaskill. Maybe that's why I was so critical of SING this year. I keep comparing it to what it used to be. I remember I'm sure Mr. Williams has SING from earlier years on DVD. If you were to watch them, you'd see how great SING used to be. In my opinion and speaking from experience, SING is really headed down the drain.

And forumaddict, it doesn't help to say things so blatanly. You should give your logic behind your statement. I'm curious as to why you think they should've won.

I don't really see "High School Musical" in the freshmore performance, but I still can't figure out what they parodied. Renee (juniors) did kind of make the other dancers look bad because she stood out so much. I'm not sure who should've won because I'm a bit biased. I had to work with all of the grades during rehearsals and got some attitudes from certain people so that just made me not like some of them. Just watching the performances, I thought that the juniors had a good concept but they could've taken out some scenes or shortened them. The freshmores were entertaining, but since I still don't know what the parodies were, some scenes were confusing and seemed a little out of place. I think I mostly laughed at the costumes they were wearing and how tight the clothes were. The seniors' had a clear concept and their performance looked creative but it could've used a little more laughs.

The freshmores had nothing to do with High School Musical, except for the part when they mocked the seniors! lmao! It was about the production of a play! the first scene is where Kip (the bad guy) was trying to imporve the play. And the second scene is to give a better back ground on the skit, to help explain why kip tried to imporve the play and why he was jealous of what ever the leading man name was!

And I don't think, i'm just saying the Freshmores won because i am a Freshman... i'm saying it because i truly beleve that we should have won.

Many people don't know the alma mater and i think he first learned it, or try to, the day of the dress rehearsal. He still did a good job on it and his voice was amazing it gave me the chills.

The juniors did horrible on thursday, i only heard only from a few characters on thursday. And i also think every one steped there game up on saturday.

Quammy ( i think thats how you spell his name), the narrator for the freshmores, had me roflmao! He is a great actor, so i'm told he doesn't act the way in real life. He really bought life to the freshmored skit... kudos!

I blame the Audience for the Junior's performance on Thursday. Those of us in the pit could barely hear them because the audience was so restless, more specifically in the center right section. It's true most of supporting characters didn't project their voices. But I think if the audience had been more inaudible, the lines would have come across more clearly. In my opinion, Thursday went to the Seniors.

I don't know his last name but he's dark, and big. He's a sophmore. MC Urkle thursday delivery is the juniors fault, the audience becam restless; some... no, most of them didnt even understand what was going on!

Here is a decent explanation SING!

Participating in SING! was a significant event for me during my high school years and I am still friends with some of my classmates nearly 20 years later!
