I have been trying to write in my free time, and i have been trying to learn more about the history of the city and the past of our school and about the crime in this city. I found a real interesting article from the NY TIMES from 1989 about the gang that originated from our school, im sure you have heard about them. They are probably nothing now but older men in there 30's, but this is a very interesting article.

Scott Schubert (Tech alumni who was briefly very active for a short while) has amassed a WEALTH of articles relating to our schools history. You should check them out on his website.

I met an old member of the Decepticons. He really regretted a lot of what he did when he belonged, and insisted that I not join gangs. I told him I belonged to one gang: Student Government. Anyway, its actually really funny that such a gang, that was once really violent started at Tech, because Tech is relatively calm. I guess though that the City itself was in a bad state in the 80's, so it naturally spilled over to the schools, even Tech.

Well, some of them have reformed, and some haven't. I don't have the contact info for the decepticon that I met, it was just in passing (and it wasn't in NYC either). Scott Schubert might know someone who could get you in contact with them.

It is interesting to learn about our school's history. They article only says the Decepticons formed in Brooklyn Technical but they didn't seem to have anything to do with mischief there.
