help with gif

i reformated my computer and now it cant support gif images. can anyone help me!?

That really, really shouldn't happen.
Did you install some type of anti-virus program? They can sometimes block animation in *.gif files, to protect from threats that don't actually exist.

i installed eset smart security but i also had the program before i reformatted my computer...that wouldnt be it rite. plus my gif file doesnt even move. its just a picture of a mac bootup that i use with tunesup to make a boot screen. before i reformatted, tunesup could use the EXACT SAME FILE to make a boot screen. now it syas gif isnt a supported format. please help!

I don't think reinstalling the OS will give him different results. It must be something he did after installing the OS.

i di the assocation fix with a vista association fix for the .gif file. the computer still says .gif isn't supported or it isn't suitable for vista.

I have gif open up with IE and paint you have to edit it in Control Panel ->Control Panel Home-> Programs Under default programs click Make a file typeopen in a specific program
Then go to *.gif and choose a program to open it like IE.
