Aside from that, we plan events for the class and some for school such as the upcoming Sophomore/Junior Winter Trip (flyers should be up soon - the trip is from December 12 - 14th), the Talent show that will be in February, our annual Flowers for Favorites fundraiser during Valentines Day, Junior Semiformal and of course, the Six Flags trip I hope to have in the Spring and much more...If you like getting involved in school related functions such as Open House, Freshmen Orientation, helping out at school dances, then this is the organization you should join!
The magic happens during our meetings and events. From the things that you guys say to the votes that are conducted to make a decision that is what shapes class council.
If you are looking to help out the school and make Tech a better place then join the 2010 class council (if you're in the class of 2010).
This year we are meeting Tuesdays - once a week in 6E6.
Please understand that joining class council requires a lot of dedicated. You can't give up in the middle of the year because each and every member plays an important role because you will be asked to join committees to put all this together!
I look forward to working with each and every single class council member this year.
Our first meeting is Tuesday September 23rd so get those applications in ASAP! Space is limited - 30 seats.

If you would like to run for a position such as President, VP, Parliamentarian, Treasurer, or Secretary, you must fill out the application along with an essay for candidacy. If you want to be in Student Council (Class Govt) you still have it to fill it out - but circle Class Rep.
If you plan on joining student government and not leadership, you only have to fill out a student government application.

Ok so leadership is completely different. I want to run for freshman president so I just fill out the SGO Application that you linked to on this thread and I write the essay and that's it right?
So I'm not going to have to join or fill out the Leadership form if I don't want to join Leadership (since it's completely separate). Thanks for clearing it up.

The Class Council, made up of 30 people, when are their meetings and how long do they last? Aside from that, what else do they do? Do they have to volunteer at a hospital or something similar like that during a school day? I'm interested in joining this.

Yours was the only one I actually heard =P
That girl that went after you made all my friends laugh uncontrollably and what happened after, I'm not comfortable talking about.

Yep, it's made up of 30 people. You can only be in it if the spots aren't all taken up already. Meetings last as long as it takes to go through the agenda, they start at 3 pm and usually end around 4-4:15ish. SGO makes decisions regarding their class such as naming events, planning fund raisers, etc etc. Uhh volunteering at hospitals I'm not sure of, but I know that sophomore council has volunteering during school events, after school events such as fairs, etc.
