Yes you are correct alot of software isnt compatible with linux but alot of utilities are already built-in. Like lets take nero burning rom for example you would pay for that on windows on linux tehre's k3b which in my veiw is just as good and free. For stuff like photoshop and flash theres a tool called cross over office, it uses windows dll's and you can use photoshop 7(not CS :-) and flash mx + dreamweaver mx. And you can also use ms office if you feel the need with crossover office, althought there are alternatives to that $350 beast like Koffice and open office.org. I use WINE for some thing to emulate windows, like my p2p program. The hardest thing to adapt to I would say is drivers.

Might as well bump this thread up to the top with something somewhat interesting.

As some of you already know, some pages don't render correctly in Mozilla/Firefox *cough*stupidxangas*cough*.

Well, I found this extension that adds "Open in IE" when you right click a link or just blank space on a webpage. Excellent, in my opinion.

Another one thats great is a "Copy image to clipboard" extension. This is the one thing that annoyed me about Mozilla. This extension rocks. 8)

And finally, an image zoom extension comes in handy from time to time.

Links:
IEView
CopyImage
Image Zoom

All of these work for both Mozilla and Firefox.
Hope this helped existing users and converted others.

Good, you just saved yourself from being infected by tons of ActiveX trojans, viruses, and spyware. Plus, those stupid AIM buddy profile viruses don't work with a Mozilla based browser. :D

Yeah, IE killed my computer. I had to run anti- spy/adware programs once a day to remove them all. They always come back though. So i talk to my friend, 'StOrM' about it and he refers me to FireFox. I've got to thank him tomorrow. :D

I am a loyal ie user. I probably wont switch for a mad long time. Fire fox has some cool features but i will stay with internet explorer because microsoft will shun me if i dont.

I implore you to switch. You don't have to get rid of MSIE. Just don't use it. What on earth do you mean, Microsoft will shun you?

I believe it runs on Netscape but I'm not sure. AOL owns Netscape but yet has a funky relationship with IE in the past.

AOL runs on IE, even though it owns Netscape.

Yeah, I know, it's weird.
But today you just read that the man was shot dead
