Hi, I have some questions about NHS.

If we're a freshman now, can we apply for it so we can be in it in sophmore year? Because it says "The minimum number of points needed for NHS selection is 16 for incoming seniors, 14 for incoming juniors and 13 for incoming sophomores "

What does it mean by "leadership activity"? I'm only a freshman right now so I don't have any leadership positions. I have been on the math team for 2 terms and part of YEA club for 1 term so far though.

All we need to attach in terms of grades is our transcript from the first term right?

It says I can provide a written statement of how many volunteer hours I will do in the summer. I don't have any currently, but if I provide this written statement and say for example that I'll do 160 hours, do I get to use these points required for the admission process?

Yes. Freshmen can apply for NHS.

If you are inclubs, that is leadership. You dont necessarily need to have a position. If you are a general member just write that.

Your transcript should reflect your grades for term one in your case.

Yes you will gett hose points required for the admission process if you do volunteer 160

What about body? I think I was absent about 3 threes and never gave in a note to wherever it's supposed to go, does that mean I only have 2 points for body?

Isn't it a category under the qualifications?
EDIT: I think I meant "Character"

I do not think attendance to school count as infractions. It is only dean records - for example, if you punched a teacher in the face and got suspended/ jailed for it, those are infractions and will result in points being taken off.

but on btnhs.org it says

"For an applicant to be accepted, he/she must: 1. Have an average of 85 or higher. 2. Have enough community service(50 for juniors and 100 for seniors). 3. Display his/her leadership in an essay." o.o

Its not updated. There is no essay component. There is, however, a letter of recommendation from a teacher component.
