Well the main idea behind the movie is whether or not to completely restrict people from doing evil. Obviously you don't want people stealing, killing etc, but what if it was possible to 100% stop them from doing any of that at the expense of their freedom of choice? I loved the movie, watched it a few times. Fun fact, Heath Ledger used Alex from A Clockwork Orange as inspiration for his early perception of the Joker.

Christian Bale used Tom Cruise as his inspiration for American Psycho. ( had to throw that in because thought it was hilarious :P)
And yeah, about the overall idea of the movie, I'm one for giving people choice, as long as it doesn't affect others.
i.e. I'll let someone smoke and kill themselves. but i won't let a person start stabbing someone else with lit cigarettes.
I think everyone deserves one chance, and once you give that up, you don't deserve another one.
I haven't watched the movie in a while so I only have a general memory of the movie

I know what you wrote, friendo. Never saw the movie. I like the Lone Ranger theme in the trailer though.
