I want to focus towards business management. I don't think there is any specific majors catered for that. So what would sensible choices (as in classes/ major) to pick?

Also, I read that there is an AP Economics class available during senior year. What is the criteria for applying for that? Just curious.

I don't recall there being anything right up this alley. Math might come closest, but that's a bit twisted. There used to be a more general major, but I think Tech did away with that years ago but that wouldn't match what you're saying either.

You can join the YEA club, young entreprenuer association, and I'm sure there is a majority of clubs and internships relating to business and finance.
You can't expect to do everything, but there is everything to be expected.

Do you know in what field you want to manage the business. I would think that to manage a business (or part of it) effectively, you need to know how it works.

AP Economics, Sociology would be good, i think.

You can also try take IAS and take good AP Classes, Economics, Psychology.

Wow nice, you reached that conclusion 2 years earlier than I did.

Like the above post said, Econ, Psych (and Statistics) are very important for business majors. Take those APs. The requirements are on the school site under BTHS info-> school policies. IAS is probably your best bet, but it doesn't hurt choose a major like Chem or BioMed to explore other possibilities.

Chem and BioMed majors are completely unrelated to business management. Don't get stuck with a major you dislike.

BTW, regular economics class is available for one term during senior year. As mentioned, IAS would be your best chance to take AP Economics.

IAS seems to be your best choice. You have a lot of flexibility with APs...considering that other majors don't have business related APs.

Go with IAS, it's really flexible and those APs are really helpful if you get credit for them in college.

Right, those PLTW courses are relatively easy, and give you college credit as well. Plus they're weighed in as AP classes. So by the time you finish IAS & get 4/5s on the APs you'd have 7 courses worth of credits. Even if PLTW doesn't pertain to your major, you'd still be able to use those credits as electives.

It honestly doesn't matter what major you're in now... but if I would suggest math major. I'm in Bio-Med and I'm considering majoring in business management. I think the more important thing is just to be a Bus.Mgt. / Economics major in undergrad. college, or major in anything and go for a MBA
Take AP Economics!

I took PLTW POE as part of the Junior IAS sequence. The course is NOT hard. The teacher who teaches us is very very nice and although shes lenient, she teaches a lot and by the time the College Credit Exam comes, you'll be like "wow, I actually learned so much."

I'm taking PLTW Biotech Engineering - same teacher. Again, very nice teacher. She doesn't give you hours and hours of homework and its really easy to understand.
