Can you explain what the Student Assembly is? This is the first I've heard of it. I'm a clueless one :3

As I underdstand/recall it, there is one person picked from ever prefect to represent said student body. For instance, see this Assembly Reps which I believe is from last school year.

If I'm not mistaken, Nick mentioned in another thread that there may be tweaks to this model shortly to include also reps for each major as well.

This year, the Student Assembly will be a bit different.
Instead of having a prefect representative, we'll be having:

-One representative from each english class for the freshmen and sophomores
-One representative from each major section for the juniors and seniors

Student Assembly is basically the communication branch for Student Government. Members of the Student Assembly will meet twice a month to discuss updates that have happened. The members of student assembly would also be responsible for gathering feedback, suggestions, and questions that can be discussed during the meetings. The meeting will be run by the Student Assembly Coordinator who is Michelle Gorbonosov (me lol).

If you have any other questions, feel free to email me at michellegorbonosov@gmail.com .

I hate to admit it but that list was actually when I was a sophomore and I'm a senior now so its like 2 years old. I don't know why it was never updated.

Our school website needs real time updates... ;)

In addition to the not updates, it seems to me that there are different things being said about SGO decisions (??) again. It was my understanding from what you said in the other thread that the changes might be occurring, whereas Michy seems to be saying that they are occurring. Can we get a consensus? Thanks.

I'm not aware of the different decisions being made and discussed. However, what I do know is that for the Student Assembly, all I said above will hopefully be taking place.

Different things are not being said.

As I wrote earlier:

Quote

Consists of 1 student from each prefect. However, we are exploring different models with this. I know that for Juniors and Seniors, we want 1 per major section. For example, if AP American Hist is the mutual class for the Law major, and there are 2 sections of AP Am Hist for the major, then we want a rep from each section (or class) of AP Am Hist.

The other grade levels are moving toward having a rep from each English class.

The Student Assembly originally consists of 1 student from each prefect.

All grade levels will no longer follow that model as mentioned above.

The seniors and juniors, as mentioned above and in my quote, will have a rep from each section

The sophomores and freshmen, as mentioned and in my quote, will have a rep from each English class. This is the model that we are exploring and sticking with.

Michy probably received more up to date information that this is the model that is going to be used. We are providing you with real time updates to ensure that the readers of the forums knows what we are doing.

SGO works really fast and this is why a response from 2 PM in the afternoon may differ from one at 4.

Hence different things are being said. Anyway, thanks for the clarification.

Let me rephrase that different things are not being said at the same time to clarify.

If I said something completely different than Michy, then that proves that there are inconsistencies. However, that is not the case.
