I know I'm only an incoming freshman, but I want to know something about the media major. Is it mandatory to have some skill in drawing? I mostly love film, directing and editing, animation, etc. I am a horrible drawer .
I do not have the gift of drawing like some do on this forum. If I have to draw to get into media, I'm gonna have to choose a different major.
Haha.
Sarcasm is fun ... I use it a lot.

If you're interested in Media, but can not draw I would suggest to look at Industrial Design too.

Ha.
Ha.
HAAAAAAAAAAA...
...sorry, just had to get that bit of crazy out of me.
Anyway, the Media major spans a lot of artistic fields.
In junior year, you'll be learning about drawing, graphic design, photography, and more.
In senior year, you'll be learning about film, animation, web design, and more.
If you're interested in the art field, then Media is the major to pick. You definitely don't need to have past experience to get into Media, though it does help. In fact, there's usually a good number of people in Media who don't want to be in the major, but still get by pretty well.
And if you really love film, then try to do well in your freshman and sophomore year so that your chances of getting into Media will improve. Learn from my mistakes.

I looked at Industrial Design, but I'm still stuck on Media.
@DoodleKid You're really good and I can tell you really wanted to get into Media.

I guess I'll just wait till the time actually comes and see if my "artwork" is good enough.

Hm... Well I say when it comes to picking majors, you should go with what you love rather than what you're good at.
If you really do love film and animation then Media is definitely your choice. If you get in, the first year of Media might be a little hard for you since it focuses more on design and still-images, but in your second year you'll be doing projects that involve filming live action stuff and making animations with various programs.
IMO, go with your heart and not with your head.
And hell, you still have around 2 years until you need to choose a major. I'm sure you'll come to a decision before then.

you will do things like this in Media:
it's my personal opinion that the second year of Media is funnier than the first.
