The Arts Corner

Posted Image

Welcome to The Arts Corner, a place to share all kinds of Art Rendered by Tech Students.
Whether it’s visual, literal, musical, or of another method of creation, feel free to post them in this topic and share your thoughts.

A few general rules while in this topic...

1. Try to post things of your own making.
If you find a piece of art that you feel you must share, give credit to where credit is due and provide a link to the source. Ripping people off will result in your face being ripped off.

2. Do not critique unless critiquing is asked for.
This topic was made to share art with others. Unwanted critiques can result in hurt feelings and over-the-top consumption of chocolate. If you want critique, please say so.

3. Keep the material clean.
If you have an art piece that you think could be offensive in some way, try to keep it to yourself. If you have a serious urge to share it, just post a link to it with a brief warning. For example... I think this writing piece is inspiring and emotional, but I accidentally dropped 93 f-bombs in it. (Insert link here)

4. Just be nice.
I know debates and arguments can be fun sometimes, but this place is a place for people to appreciate art. Keep it classy. Don’t act like a bag of dxcks.

5. BE CREATIVE!

Ooo... Cool light effects and clothing folds... I need to learn how to draw that. @_@

And Clement, post some of your own stuff! I still haven't seen many of your pieces, just the few sigs you've had. D:

Hm... Well I posted these in the club members-only section of the forum and it didn't get much buzz, so I might as well post 'em here.

A few redesigns of the BTHSnews logo. The first one for large-image usage and the second for smaller scale things.

I don't draw much anymore. My sister does though.... she hogs the tablet, which is why I don't draw anymore.

@Chi: I wish I could draw like that. D:

@BTG23: Ooo... Cool lighting effect and colors...

@Clement: Then steal it back!

@Cowfun: :O Awesome photos...

And bleh, I was hoping for people to post more original content. It's the first rule I typed!

I guess here's some more of my stuff, a little closer to my heart.

My Tranquility and Torment Alike
Posted Image

...and here's a little piece of writing to combat Chi's "pessimistic" comment, lol.

A Rally Call for Broken Souls

I've brought every haven that would shelter me a handful of hellfire, leaving nothing but smoldering ruins.
I've stood on desolate arctic wastelands for hours on end waiting for a light that never came back.
I've
trapped myself in a metal cage set ablaze as devilish demons danced to my silent pain.
I have next to nothing at my side and an imaginary path that's leading me to nowhere.

My brain is rotting and my heart is breaking...

But my soul has never felt more free in ages.

My nothingness only gives me reason to salvage what I can.
My nothingness only gives me reason to start anew.
My nothingness only gives me reason to climb a pillar of my own creation and to touch that purely lit stAr that I've been following with every step I've taken.

I have every reason to give up.
I have every reason to cry out.
And I have one reason to keep walking through these fires on this trail through hell.

I have hope.

@Clemmy: IT'S FOR ART! LOSING A LIMB OR TWO IS WORTH IT!

@D: Yeah, the last few times I was at Art Club, you weren't there! And that's like... the only place we were ever in at the same time during Junior year. @_@
And heyy, I saw those on your Facebook. Draw anything new??

@Chappy:  Whoa. How long did it take to make those?

@Vince: Whoooaaa... I love the first one... When and where did you take it?

A Faraway Freedom

Posted Image

Doodled this on the first page of my brand new sketchbook (filled my old one on the last few days of school) throughout my first day of summer school. Looking back on it, it definitely doesn't look that great... Hell, in my sketchbook I drew the arms in the wrong position, so I had to flip it, but oh well. Means something. I know it ain't original and it's basically a crap-version of My Tranquility and Torment Alike piece, but... Bleh. Freedom's been on my mind a lot lately.

I'll upload some older stuff after a few more posts by you people.

Unlike everyone else her that actually has artistic talent, I use PS to make lame edits :P. I made myself a Desktop when I figured how to do decent looking 3d text and this is the result.

@Sulate: That's pretty cool. PS ftw! xD
@cowfun: Your pretty awesome, and if that was taken by you IRL, then that's a cool stock photo dude. xD

@Rest that I didn't have time to look up and see the names: You all are talented at this, keep up the good work dudes! *steals and sells on Ebay*

Well, I have a lot of stuff, dunno what to share, but yeah here are some lame PS edits like Sulate up there.^^ :)
I warn you though, they suck , I'm a Freshman, and this is from my 7th Grade year...

@DoodleKid: You conveyed a message of "freedom" pretty well. However, imo, it could be stronger if you enlarge the chain links a bit.

@Sulate: Hide the icon names! :p

@ Cowfun: Try f8-11 and a 5-6 second exposure next time; it'll reduce the overexposure of the initial explosion. OR, shoot in RAW like me :)

stop trying to sound smart Posted Image
i keep it on f4 and just bulb it
simply for the sole reason to control the exposuretime
too lazy to adjust the nef files, man. not to mention the fact that i can only store like a hundred raws
