Studio Art 2D focuses more on designing 2D art, such as drawing, painting, photography, digital art, and other 2D creations.

Studio Art 3D focuses more on building 3D art, such as sculptures, ceramics, models, metal work, and other 3D creations.

Its harder to create stuff from a 3d view in a painting than in 3d though.
