It all depends on your grades, and the number of spots left. Some may be forced into majors then they may crowd them up a bit, some majors may have limits to what number of students they may take.
Popular majors can include Bio-Med or Law and Society, whereas majors that are taken into consideration a bit less are Media and several other majors that you would do better in if you had more skills on that particular subject.
Here's a tip though, don't pick any major based on the number of people it has, just go for the one you know most about, the one you like the best, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Yes, the kid who's stepped into Tech twice in his whole life is correct for the most part. All majors have a maximum number of students that they can accept. Majors like Bio-Med, and SSR are very competitive. Majors like L&S & Media have a lot of students in them. The new easiest major to get into as of this year is College Prep(lots of spots in it) which replaced IAS (34ish spots).

College Prep - if students carefully choose it, will provide a great flexibility in courses as long as it has more than 1 section. Otherwise, your elective course will be the same as everyone else if there is only 1 section (34>)
