It was to keep track of club credits. You would take it to your club adviser and he or she would sign off and then you would hand it in to 7C1. Last year, though, the clubs put in the credits electronically. (at least my club did)

Blackmanor is right about the purpose of the SGO card that is used to keep track of club and team credits. Last year, it also gave 50% off the ticket price for several school wide events, including the shows.
Also, for your information, you need 4 cards (one from every school year), 32 club credits, and 50 hours to graduate.

From the way Tech kids spend money especially for food, Im sure in the long run, this card will pay off.

And now that the cards are different, will a new one still work for my freshman year?

Also, I heard that YEA tried to this a few years ago, and a lot of the stores didn't own up to the discounts..

It depends on what it is. Some internships are community service based and that would make sense for your serving time to go towards your hours.
If you have an internship and you receive a stipend, then no.
If you get paid, then it isnt volunteering.

I'm going to be a senior next year and i already bought my SGO card for freshman year but I didn't buy my SGO cards for sophmore and junior year (and obviously senior.) Am I going to have to purchase my sophmore and junior year cards at the escalated price?
Thanks in Advance!

You do not have to buy one if you do not need it. I know many people who do not/ will not buy SGO cards because they've already received the credits.

I've volunteered for Mr. Evangelist during open house and I was supposed to receive 2 service credits along with 4 service credits from freshmen orientation. Do I just go to them and ask them to sign and hope they remember?
