What's the earliest time I can speak to my guidance councelor for a shuedule change? Also can I change from a 2-9 to a 1-8?
You can speak to your guidance counselor at any time. If you want to put in a request for a program change, follow these directions: http://bths.edu/apps..._ID=149270&id=0
You can't change from 2-9 to 1-8 unless you get transferred out of your 9th period class and just so happen to get put in a first period class or you have a incredibly good, legitimate reason (maybe because of sports team, or transportation).

If one is requesting a program change on the date specified for their grade, how long will it take to receive the new schedules?

Depends on the change - some are easy and some require waiting until a slot is open in a particular class or period to implement. Many of the requests will not be done at all becuase the classes are full. The first priority is getting students the correct classes, then the programming team will look at preferences. Teacher switching requests and dropping of majors are almost always automatically rejected.

Mr. Asher, are we automatically notified or do we have to go to our guidance counselor to retrieve the new program card? Also, do the new program changes have an immediate effect or do the changes start having an effect on the next school day? Thank you.

Your guidance counselor (or perhaps student help) should notify you.
You can't expect to do everything, but there is everything to be expected.

Program changes are effective immediately - if your program was changed any day during the week then your name will show up in the teacher's attendance on the following attendance sheet on Monday (Class attendance sheets are weekly) though you will be allowed to follow your new schedule.
Guidance Counselors or student aides deliver the new program to you which is why it is important to follow your old program until an official notice has been printed and given to you - otherwise tracking you down will be impossible if you just go to whichever class you think you should be in.
