83 or 83+ will be just fine and last you for a very long time. it has much more feature's than you'll ever come close to using in high school.

You don't even need a graphing calculator for freshman algebra. You will really need one for any math higher than adv. algebra/trig and any physics class.
You can't expect to do everything, but there is everything to be expected.

It's smart to get one now though and use it not only through HS but through college as well.

Plus, having a calculator that shows recent computations is handy. NO MORE HAVING TO PRESS THE UP ARROW AND MEMORIZE VALUES

Go for the gold and get the N-Spire.

It's banned on many regents.

TI 83+ is sufficient enough. TI 83 has some missing functions.
TI 84 Silver Edition if you want games. =D

The TI 84+ Silver Edition should get you through college....Don't know if a TI 85 will come out...but if and when it does, it will not affect you.

TI-85 and 86 are actually older models. The 84+ Silver is a very good model and the N-spire is great as well. There are several versions of the N-Spire and I believe the model without CAS is allowed on most exams. Please check with your math teacher before buying anything .

That's only CAS model, as Mr. Asher said. Also the N-Spire comes with a TI-84 attachment if your class requires it or you're feeling nostalgic :P
