Lol, I'm just wondering. Since I'm taking Intuitive Calculus this year, will I have to take AP Calculus next school year before I can take Multivariate Calculus or can I jump to Multi next year? If I do take AP Calculus next year, there will be a lot of overlapping, right?

You take multivariable after you take and pass AP Calculus AB. After that class, you can either take multivariable or BC. If you're in the applied physics, math, or aerospace majors, than you will move onto multivariable in your senior year if you took calculus junior year. (That is of course, if they don't change the system this time)
You can't expect to do everything, but there is everything to be expected.

Ah I see. By the way, do you know if they will let me take the BC exam in May? I may be planning to self study it over the course of this school year.

around the time that people register and pay for the ap exams you can talk to the ap of the specific department (in this case , mr.kaelin) about taking the exam even if youre not enrolled in the course .
i have no idea if he will let you , but he should ?

i dont really see the point in self studying bc in your sophomore year though .. you can just take bc junior year , and then multi senior year ..

ahahaha you narcissistic sexy loli

Seeing as you're in Calculus now, I would wait for the BC exam. In Tech you're required to take 3 years of Math in the school. So I'm guessing you'll take BC one of the other years as class since you're a sophomore in Calculus.

You can take the AP Exam if you have not taken the course corresponding to the exam - college board lets you do that. You will have to see Mr. Palmer (who is the supervisor of testing) or the department AP - forgot which one but I'm pretty sure it's the latter, when students are being registered for exams.

Nicky's right, College Board is a separate entity from the school and you do not require the schools permission to take an AP that you didn't study in school. This method is actually really popular abroad, since a lot of international schools don't offer AP classes.

By the way, does Tech offer Multivariate, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Discrete Mathematics like the site says it does?

I can confirm multi-variable calculus, I have a few friends in it.

We have the curriculum for it but not enough students to make a class yet. You guys are crying after geometry - you think you'd wanna take discrete math?

Lol, I wasn't at Tech last year to take Geometry. I might be self studying for BC exam this year and if I do well enough I'm going to take Multi and Differential next year. Multi and Differential are both one term correct? So what happens if I do take Multi and Differential next year, will they put me in AP Statistics senior year lol (I don't want AP Statistics)?
