[font="Century Gothic"][color="#2e8b57"]-Allowing seniors to leave during lunch. It should be a senior privilege. It'd be nice to get something decent to eat instead of the poison that's served during lunch. If some students don't come back, they don't come back. It's their problems and their missing out on the education they could be getting. They should be the only one getting in trouble.

I came very close to this. But not quite. My proposal reached the SLT with support from parents for a different but similar model - setting up a corner of the roof for students to have lunch outside when the weather is nice. Will the executive officers for the class of 2011 follow up?

I don't know how productive this may be if the roof does not have the correct dimensions of the handball courts - and the height needed. I played HB outside before the roof fully closed for renovations and the courts are smaller than those of the ones in the Parks.

Make it so you will be punished if you smoke on or near school property. I'm getting sick of seeing potheads coming into first period with hangovers and "cool kids" smoking in front of cop's faces outside the deli on Fulton... what is this madness...

You're legally allowed to smoke outside, so long as it's not on Tech's property. Although you can't buy cigarettes if you're under 18, you can smoke them.

I would love to see some sort of way to actually have some way for students to have a fair classroom environment and fair grades. This doesn't really apply to all of tech but only to a few teachers. These few teachers ruin the grades of their students, hardworking or not. We work hard day after day only to find ourselves overwhelmed by teachers like these that pretty much hand out zeroes for no reason. Yes I know you mayapproach the AP supervisors for problems such as these, but even they end up doing nothing. Most of them are friends with the actual teachers you go in to complain about. They end up doing nothing. Maybe there are a few exceptions to this but for the most part from what I've heard and my own experiences student complaints are treated like garbage by a lot of APs as well as the teachers themselves. I quote from one of these very APs "If the student has 60s or 65s I kick them out immediately". There should be some other way besides approaching these APs to get some sorta retribution for our grades, cause otherwise I'm afraid I won't be getting into my dream college nor will many others because of these harsh teachers.

I would be more than happy to meet with a group of students to figure out a way to address this issue. I also think that some of the teachers you consider fair should be involved in the discussions. The overwhelming majority of teachers are fair but there are some issues which need to be resolved via policy decisions. Though we are somewhat constrained by the UFT contract, it is worth exploring options. Please contact me directly to set this in motion.

Having more tables at lunch. It looks a little sad when and entire area of the lunch room is forced to sit on the floor because there are not enough tables.

I've been to the lunch room a few times and I saw that they now have a few round tables. I totally flipped out when I saw them due to their sheer awesomeness, but apparently they're the first tables taken.

Maybe we could try setting up a recycling system around the school. I see the blue trash bins but regular garbage just goes in.

Yeah...tried doing this for years. Speak to Mr. Evangelist in 4S8, Samantha Eng(SGO), or Michelle Gorbosonov (SGO) for more details on the incompetence the custodial staff has toward recycling at Tech.
