What does the school do with surplus and old computers? Does the school dispose of them responsibly?
"...But more important than resources to use and places to live is the realization that a species whose DNA resides on only one planet is destined to become extinct. Exploration of the space frontier is ultimately about survival of the human species. If the dinosaurs had explored space, if they had colonized other planets, they would still be alive today." - Donald Pettit

There is a formal process for "Disposal of Obsolete Inventory" that the DOE put in place around 5 years ago. We call a company to pick up whatever we have and they handle proper disposal. We usually take any of the parts that can be used for maintenance and repair before the disposal process.

We have a ton of computers that are out of service and we've been doing diagnostics on each one of them, determining which can be scrapped and which can be salvaged or reused. The entirety of Tech Squad have been hard at work over the last month or so dragging non-working computers out.
