Hello, I received my SHSAT results on friday, and I have been accepted into BTHS :) I decided that I will go to BTHS. I know this is a bit early, but I have a question about the Computer Science major. Will C or C++ be taught in Computer Science? Thanks.

C used to be in the curriculum, but it was replaced by Java. But who knows, it might change again by the time you get to junior year. Also I saw something about the Computer Science major being replaced with a Software Engineering major? Don't quote me on that xD

Comp Sci is being revised to focus on "Software Engineering" and programming as a thematic structure. Student who want programming will be immersed and those that don't should look for a different major. This decision was made by the comp sci faculty and adminsitration in response to feedback from many of the upper level students in the program.

I believe so - the comp sci faculty mapped out the transition for the current junior class though to be honest I don't remember the details.

I see the classes for Comp Sci got changed. I think Comp Sci sounds better than Soft Eng. But besides that, I wonder how many people will apply. There's always people who aims for a major like Comp Sci or Media hoping for an easy grade or being on the computers (Facebook, Proxies, the usual). I hope that people decide to stick to their aims and not the false rumors about Media being an easy grade and so on.

Programming for Android OS? Oh yes. ^.^ We should cooperate with Google. perhaps potential apps can be submitted to Google and maybe we can score a deal with them. i doubt it, but who knows.

What room is Comp Sci in? I'll check it out tomorrow.

It says so in the major page: "Programming for the Android OS."

Edited: It's in Senior year.
