Lockers
What to do with them, what not to stuff in them, and where to get them.
Now in "freshmanese"
So what are these lockers?
Lockers are a magical type of storing items and such.
Where the heck are the lockers? I CAN'T FIND THEM!
Look inside the classrooms. We can't have lockers out in the hallway, it clogs and creates human traffic.
What's allowed in these cool container thingymadings?
- No firearms (guns, and the likes)
- No switchblades, or knives of any sort. Tooth picks are welcome. (Again, NOTHING AGAINST NYCDOE'S POLICY)
- No dead bodies
- Nothing that's larger than 5"x36" (More or less these measurements).
- Book bags
- Projects
- Textbooks
- Laptops
- Coats
- Scarves
- Any other outerwear
- Large stacks of papers that you don't want your parents to see
- Gym clothes
- ID Cards (Not recommended)
Actually, teachers are allowed to do so. Some restrict their lockers for use for their students only, or open up their classrooms whenever they feel like it/first period or tenth period. Find a teacher/classroom who has an open door policy. They generally let students in for all passing periods, and SOMETIMES during their classes. Don't abuse this privilege. Do your thing, and get out before they start teaching class.
So how am I supposed to find a teacher/classroom with an open door policy?
You suck in your gut, pick up your chest, walk straight to the teacher in the classroom, and ask if he/she will allow you to use your locker during passing/when their lockers will be open. Some teachers share classrooms with other teachers and they both might have different locker policies.
Okay, you told me so many things. Would you like to tell me more?
No. I don't wanna. It's almost 1 in the morning and I'm bored.
): . Are these lockers assigned or are they a free for all?
THESE LOCKERS ARE A FREE FOR ALL.
IT'S A HUGE CROWD OF LOCKER HUNGRY UPPERCLASSMEN. RUUUUNNNNN!
What locks can I use?
ANY! Yayy! You don't have to pay 15 bucks for a lock!
Proper etiquette for locker usage.
When someone next to you uses their locker, don't open your locker door all the way, please.
It's slightly awkward when they have to shove your locker door into your face. ):
If someone's using the locker below you, take turns taking things out of your lockers
I can't stress this enough. DO NOT TAKE MORE THAN ONE LOCKER.
It's not fair for the rest of the people of the school, and no one likes lugging a heavy coat throughout the winter season.
Tips for using lockers?
To make your freshman year less agonizing with the amount of books you carry back and forth classes, I recommend finding a locker that's on a floor that's directly center of all of your classes.
Say you have classes on floors 6, 2, 4, and 4.
The most common, and the middle of these floors is floor 4. Use that floor for your locker situation. I like center section the most.
So, now that you have your conveniently located locker, you can travel to your locker and from your locker to your classes after withdrawing and depositing your textbooks IN YOUR HANDY DANDY MAGICAL STORE 'N GO! (Must have a passing period accessible locker).
Having a locker in your LOTE classroom is convenient as well. Don't have to lug that cool textbook around all day.
Also, please note that the 5th floor HAS NO CENTER SECTION. You can not cross it. It is not possible. Do not think about why. It's just is.
Don't place your locker on the 5th floor if you can help it. Maybe on the south/north sides, but not on the east/west sides. WAY too long to traverse each end/you have to go up/down a flight a stairs to get across 5th floor.
You'll learn the ropes soon enough. Good luck to you and your magical store 'n go adventures!

I think I got all of it.
