Emory is pretty good, we have awesome concerts and events. The city is reachable and the ATL airport is pretty big.
Too bad the food kind of sucks.

Yeah true. Find a roommate yet? Scheduling your own classes can both be rewarding and a chore lol. I was used to that too. Lots of responsibility and growing up in college I guess.

In fact, my friends were intrigued that I applied to mostly small liberal arts schools, but they were pretty supportive. I didn't have the prestige craze. Even "a certain guidance councilor" praised me for my school selections.

Of course there's always factors like, being closer vs. being farther, and etc. Staying in the city gives you a ton to do, and the city is your "campus". Some people like that and some don't. Emory would provide you an actual campus with grass and a "traditional college experience" I guess. While there's no shortage of things to do on campus, doing city things like you can do in Macaulay would be a problem. Emory is IN Atlanta, but it's in the northeast "suburbs", so going to Downtown Atlanta requires a car (unless you're willing to spend a lot of time on public transportation) It's kind of annoying coming from the city and not being able to experience city life (I miss it sometimes), especially if you can't drive. Unless someone else is going to Emory with you, you'll probably have to make all new friends without knowing any old ones there - which can be both good and bad. Also, going to Emory would mean you have to pay more for airfare and being away from home a lot.
Oh yea and (maybe), if it ever crossed your mind, greek life in Emory is more predominant compared to Macaulay.
I hope this helps. If you have any more questions you can ask lol, I'm pretty free because school ends in a few weeks and I only have one more test, a paper and an assignment left to do before finals. Procrastination - still haven't kicked the habit.

But yea Emory would be my first choice if everything was free lols. Is Emory's workload sorta comparable to tech's? Also is it a cut throat environment down there? But in the end even if i choose macaulay i am definitely getting myself an Emory tshirt lols

Haha if everything was free :p Emory was very generous with my aid so I was able to go for relatively cheap. As for the workload... it really depends on your classes haha. I know some of my friends have intense workloads and some have a good amount of free time. TBH, I wasn't extremely hard working and motivated in high school... so I probably can't make a really good comparison (it would probably be hard to anyway). I can say that typical line though that "Tech prepares you for college"... it's hard work but you definitely can do it, and I would think that Tech at least prepared you to be willing to stay up extra hours just to do work (haha)
Cut throat? Not that I'm aware of. Mix in with the right crowd and people are generally supportive and nice to you. I never really feel like I'm "competing" with anyone here... although this is only my second semester. Haha, I might be able to pick up an Emory shirt for you if you wanted me to - the shipping online is pretty killer.

1st week - you have the time of your life with no parents being around
End of 1st month - you start missing home
End of 2nd month - you start craving home cooked meals
Middle of 3rd month - can't wait to go home for Break
Fast forward to Winter Break - can't wait to go back to college becuase you're bored to death at home
Then the 2nd half of freshman year passes super duper fast! I'm done in a week and a half!
