I'm going to be a senior next year, and I'd rather sleep in late than choke on the disgusting lunch food. Generally, are guidance counselors nice about dropping lunch or is that a no-no?
dance like nobody's watching,
sing like nobody's listening,
work like you don't need the money
and love like you've never been hurt.

It's permissible once you get a form from your guidance counselor and your parents sign it.

If you drop lunch, what can you do to substitute for it? And if you have it your last period, can you just leave the school?

If it is your last period, you may leave the building (you will not be permitted to come back in until the end of the school day). Dropping lunch is permissible only if we can fit the desired class in your schedule that specific period. There is no schedule change to move a period one class to later in the day and drop lunch.
