The Crisis Channel is the nation's first consolidated source of information before, during and after a crisis occurs. The mission of the Crisis Channel is to provide open, immediate and actionable information nationally to aid citizens in crisis preparedness, response and recovery. The Crisis Channel will provide information to assist the public when a natural or manmade disaster occurs.

Our hope is to help all those affected by a crisis find answers such as where loved ones are being sheltered or what documents are needed when applying for assistance. Through satellite and cable TV broadcasts as well as streaming online and to mobile devices, The Crisis Channel will continue to update communities in the U.S. and arm victims with information when it is needed most. The Crisis Channel – an idea whose time has come.

We are now accepting video entries until November 1, 2011 and the grand prize winner will receive $500 in scholarship money. We are looking for videos that show how your family or community prepares for an emergency. Some things you might think about are: What escape plan do you have? Do you have a kit ready? Do you have a plan for your pet? All videos will be shown on our website www.thecrisischannel.com and facebook page, and the grand prize winner will be chosen by the most likes on facebook.

In addition to the scholarship, all entrants have the chance to have his or her video used as a public service announcement (PSA) on television stations across the United States. The creative format is open and feel free to use personal testimonies, music, narratives, voice overs, humor or other formats to deliver your messages about disaster preparedness.
