There is an error in my program (wrong level) and I've emailed my guidance counselor but no response yet. I am a freshie so I'm just wondering if this can be fixed before school starts on the 8th?

Doesn't BTHS have all my school info from my middle school yet?

Wrong level of what? Language?
You can fix it on the first day of school during lunch or after school by talking to your guidance counselor.
If you're not in Gateway, then your guidance counselor would be located on the south side of the 7th floor.

Freshmen can do a program change on the first day of school. When you have lunch, use some of your lunch time to change it with your counselor.
Basically what ClEMeNt said.

BTHS may have your information but not everyone who needs it has it. I got called into my counselor's office January to be told she needed my middle school grades to give me credit for the algebra and biology classes I took.

When I was a freshie, I was stuck in Italian Level 1 when I was supposed to be in Level 2. It took forever to get it changed. Try to get it changed as quick as possible on the first day or you'll be bored for three to four days more than necessary.

Go to your guidance counselor during your lunch period to confirm any updates to your schedule so you can ensure you get on the new schedule as quickly as possible. You don't want to miss too many days of classwork and homework. They'll pile up if you get in later next week, so you might want to check on it now. I'm not sure if you're be forced to make up that missed days of classwork or homework.
