Well, I'd think everyone is coming in for the first day. You should probably just bring a pen, a pencil, a folder and a notebook/binder that you can take looseleaf out of. You shouldn't worry about not making friends, you'll be with your cluster for half a day for 170 days and have plenty of chances to make friends. If you join a unique club, you'll probably find some people with similar interests as yourself.

I was the only one from my old school to go to tech, since the school was 7-12 and a lot of people chose to stay. Anyway, the first few days might be awkward but a lot of other freshies will be too and there will probably be a lot of schedule exchanges to see if you share classes/lunch and one of the first couple of questions you'll receive from anyone will be what your lunch period is :) chances are you'll find at least someone.
As for supplies, looseleaf, folder/binder to carry looseleaf, and pens/pencils. All the first day will consist of are talks about the class itself, contracts, supplies (already listed in contract),delany cards, and other basic info.
