Horrible first day. Stairs is confusing with people going down and up in opposite directions occasionally so you have to stop for them but I understand both stairways maybe clogged. I didn't get to eat lunch because of the amount of people lining up for lunch. At least I have 2 teachers that understand and let me eat in class. It's hard to differentiate between the north and south side of the school so can anyone give me some tips? Tech is just filled with all sorts of people, the first thing I saw when I got out at dismissal was a kid with a joint (possibly marijuana tucked between his ear and head). I have free periods 10 and 11 so is there anyway I can add classes (im in gateway) ? What do I do during the free period I have first on thurs and friday? Streets and sidewalks are very crowded.

Are you allowed to use elevators?

To differentiate between north and south, you need to know your compass. If you're on the west side, for example, then you should be able to find out where north or south is based on simple reasoning. It's a little hard to explain, but you just have to reason your way to navigating.

As for adding classes... Why would you want to do that? xD Well, you could join clubs (there are some for 10th period, others for 11th) but if you really want to take classes then ask your guidance counselor. The only 10th period class I'm aware of is Yearbook.

Free period you have first on Thursday and Friday..? You mean you don't have a first period? Just go to school at a later time.

As for elevators, yes, but only certain ones on certain times. Might as well just take the stairs.

yea i noticed the stairs r bad. and it was mostly upperclassman going through the wrong staircase...which is the opposite of what i thought it would be.
i have 8th lunch so its not that crowded but i know the others are...maybe you could try to get there earlier. like sneakily pack up w/out a teacher noticing. and once you find your way around the school youll easily be able to navigate to the lunch room and get there faster

Horrrrrriblee first day. Especially lunch, I couldn't find the right entrance to the lunchroom for 7th floor. Also, once I got in there, I couldn't find any friends because the cafeteria is so big. And there were no seats left and then I found a few friends but we had to stand. And then I didn't make any new friends and I was such a loner. And I felt like such a freshman looking at my schedule and looking at the door numbers. LOL. And I got homework from like 2 teachers :'(

My first day.. was pretty decent. The only thing I regret was sitting in a random seat in one of my classes; my seatmates are totally shy and I can't start a decent conversation D:
Its was pretty cool tho for the rest of the day, except for lunch. I ended up just walking back and forth with one of my old guy friends and then leaning against the windowsill with other freshies during 4th pd.
Hurr hurr o 3o

Anyone see me? I was the nerd with the glasses and Tom and Jerry shirt :P
heyo mario :3D whats up? i liek roller skates.. and adventure time.. uh.. derp o 3o

Does anyone know Ms. Yee? She seems new to teaching.

Only way you have first free is probably if you got Gym first. You can come in early and hang out, well, depends on where. I can go to a computer lab, they let me in 1st period.

Elevators now banned to all but staff and those with an elevator card (Mouse Squad for work and those who have medical conditions with required doctor's note).

Nope, don't know her.

My rant: To all the freshmen, go UP the UP STAIRCASE and go DOWN the DOWN STAIRCASE, not vice-versa. I was doing both NHS shifts in the morning and was yelling "If you don't know your prefect, go to the center." I didn't have enough voice left to yell at the freshmen (and soph+ who were using them to sneak up/down along) on the staircases.

Someone sticky a thread explaining the fundamentals of up and down with staircases. I cannot be more serious than I am right now. I swear, it'd be useful if all teachers explained that first day.

Edited: My post is so late~

I'm not trying to be funny :/.

So concerns I need a little clarification on: How do I tell north from south? How and where do I sign up for clubs? What can I do during a free first period? Can I hangout at the Gateway lounge?

You don't really tell the difference between North and South, just go one way and if it isn't right go the other way. I signed up for clubs like Chess club by going to their page or trying to find info on when they'll meet up. Then after you figure out when you can sign up and where, you just go there and join.

I like giraffes. :)

I hope so. Otherwise, I'll be complaining quite a bit about having to go from the basement to GYM8 in 4 minutes.

All student elevators that are supposed to be 'banned' from student use.

Never Ever Smoke Weed
Use that.
If you're facing east, right definitely has to be south.
West, right has to be north.

YOU SLEEP IN LATE, YOU OVERDOING GATEWAY FRESHMAN. I'm telling Nair to hit it hard on you freshman.
Yes, you could... provided a teacher is there to supervise.
Btw, it's not really a lounge, more like a private computer room with Macs.

Express goes to 7 and back. Must be on the first floor. Anyway, only staff/medically excused students. Good luck.

NHS lounge has Windows. ;)
